In 2016, she along with her husband Varun Alagh started toxin free baby products. Later the brand expanded rapidly in the personal care segment and the company became a unicorn. She has appeared as a shark in the first season of Shark Tank India, which gave her national recognition. Ghazal, born on 2 September 1988, is counted among the prominent faces of the Indian startup ecosystem.

Apart from this, Upasana Taku is the co-founder, executive director and CFO of MobiKwik. He started the company in 2009 with Bipin Preet Singh. After doing engineering from NIT Jalandhar and master’s from Stanford University, he worked at PayPal where he got a deep understanding of digital payment systems. MobiKwik’s IPO came in December 2024 and the company entered the public market. It is believed that Upasana also played an important role in the financial strategy and growth of this company.
