Bollywood singer Kumar Sanu has filed a defamation case against his ex-wife Rita Bhattacharya. They are demanding an apology and compensation of Rs 50 crore for the alleged loss to their reputation. Now his ex-wife Rita has publicly reacted to the notice sent by her ex-husband Kumar Sanu. In an interview given to the paparazzi, Rita alleged that Kumar Sanu had misbehaved with her during her pregnancy.

Ex-wife reacted to Kumar Sanu’s legal notice
A defamation petition has been filed on behalf of Kumar Sanu against his ex-wife by his lawyer Sana Raees Khan, demanding a compensation of Rs 30 lakh for the loss and removal of Bhattacharya’s interview from various entertainment platforms. He told that the amount mentioned in the notice he received is much more than the actual amount. In an interview to ETimes, he said, “In the paper he has sent me, he is asking for Rs 50 crore, I don’t understand how Sanu can think that I have so much money. This is really sad.”

He further said, “I am shocked. He is filing a case against the mother of his three adult sons. He is attacking me without attacking anyone else. He is filing a case against me and not against other people who are spreading rumors and making inflammatory remarks.”

Kumar Sanu Has blocked Rita Bhattacharya’s number
Rita had alleged that Kumar Sanu misbehaved with her during her pregnancy, denied her food, locked her in the kitchen and did not even get medical care. Rita had claimed abuse in her married life, Rita told in her interview. “I never got a chance to talk to him. Neither I nor my children got a chance to talk to him because he always blocked us. I tried calling Sanu, but he never picked up the phone. He has blocked us on his number.”

’31 Will meet Sanu again in court after a year,
Rita further said, “I have contacted his secretary and requested him to stop all this, it is a big insult. My son was getting married and my in-laws were asking questions. I pleaded several times. All the messages and recordings are present in my phone. I am 63 years old and I have to fight in the court again. The first time he took me to the court, I was pregnant with Jaan. Now again, at this age.” I have to face all this, I will meet Sanu in the court after 31 years.

Rita further said that her children should not be blamed in any way for defending their family. Rita told that this is very insulting. Their children are no longer children. They have grown up. His elder son will be 37 years old, the second son will be 34 years old, while Jaan is 31 years old. Rita said that it is not a crime for her sons to answer to people. He didn’t do anything wrong.

‘Stop harassing us’
Bhattacharya also indicated that she may retaliate. She said “I will meet him in the court, and I will beg Sanu with folded hands – just try to be a good man and be a father to my three children. If you can’t love us, at least stop harassing and troubling us.”
