The petitioner’s counsel said that the Government of India had earlier given the status of citizen to the Chakma refugees of Bangladesh. The senior advocate demanded a ban on the exile of the Rohingya people. He said that if the Supreme Court did not do this, then people will continue to be left in the sea. This argument had no effect on the court. Justice Surya Kant said that the petitions related to the Rohingya people have been submitted by the Chief Justice to the bench of 3 judges.
