In fact, a joint team of Uttar Pradesh Special Test Force (STF) and Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Thursday arrested a wanted criminal allegedly involved in the firing incident.

Let us tell you that Mumbai Police has arrested Pradeep Kumar Ramsingh alias Chhotu from Agra with the help of Uttar Pradesh Task Force. Investigation has revealed that huge amount of money was offered to the accused for this crime, in which Pradeep Kumar was also involved.

Had been dodging the police for four months
The crime branch was looking for Pradeep Kumar after his role became clear, but he remained absconding by dodging the police for about four months. Police had received information that he was about to return to his home, after which the team caught him from Ashoknagar, New Basti Pakki Talaiya area of ​​Agra. Investigation has also revealed that Pradeep Kumar was influenced by the news and posts related to Shubham Lonkar on social media.

A total of 9 accused have been arrested
Earlier, 8 accused had been arrested in this case. After the arrest of Pradeep, the total number of arrested accused has now increased to 9. At present, the police is thoroughly interrogating Pradeep Kumar and through him, his relations with the main accused Shubham Lonkar are being investigated. In this matter, the police have registered a case under MCOCA and the search for the absconding main accused Shubham Lonkar is going on.

There was firing at Rohit Shetty’s house on 1 February
According to the police, on the night of February 1, 2026, there was firing at ‘Shetty Tower’ located in Juhu area of ​​Mumbai. This attack was allegedly carried out at the behest of the notorious Shubham Lonkar gang with the aim of extorting money and creating fear among the people.

A big revelation has come to light in the case of firing at the house of famous Bollywood producer-director Rohit Shetty. Investigation by Mumbai Crime Branch has revealed that the shooter of Bishnoi gang had used sophisticated country made weapon for the firing. With this high-quality weapon, five 7.62 mm bullets were fired at Rohit Shetty’s house.

Firing with ultra-modern weapon

According to the investigation, the 7.62 mm bullet is a widely used caliber, with a diameter of approximately 0.308 to 0.311 inches. It is mainly used in rifles and machine guns. Two common variants—7.62×51mm NATO (used in M14, FN FAL, M60) and 7.62×39mm (used in AK-47, SKS)—are in use. These bullets typically weigh between 123 to 175 grains and are known for their high velocity, deep penetration and effectiveness.

The Crime Branch is investigating which of the two, which type of 7.62 mm bullet was used by the shooter. Also, during the investigation, there have been indications of the presence of some other operatives of the Bishnoi gang along with the shooter at the spot, efforts to identify them are underway.

The shooter had received Rs 10,000

Investigation has also revealed that the two arrested accused, Siddharth Yenpure and Swapnil Sakat, had received a total of Rs 10,000 for delivering the scooter from Pune to the Mumbai shooter.

This amount was given by the firing mastermind Shubham Lonkar to the accused Samarth Pomaji, who gave this money to both the accused after returning to Pune after the delivery of the scooter. The crime branch is also finding out the total amount given by Bishnoi gang to carry out the crime. For this, the bank transaction details of the accused are being scrutinized.

According to Crime Branch sources, after the firing, the shooter ran away on the scooter for some distance. After this he asked an auto driver about going to Kalyan, but the driver refused. Later, another auto driver dropped him just before Vile Parle railway station, whose statement has been recorded by the police. Due to closure of local trains, the shooter resorted to private transport and fled out of Mumbai.

Sources claim that the accused shooter has been identified and efforts to arrest him have been intensified. A senior official said that the accused has been identified and several teams are busy tracing him. So far, statements of more than a dozen people have been recorded in this case.

Rohit Shetty’s security increased

After the firing incident by Bishnoi gang, Mumbai Police has increased the security of Rohit Shetty. According to the information, before the firing, two police personnel were deployed for his security, but now the security arrangements at his house and personal have been further increased.
