Rajasthan Royals team manager Romi Bhinder was seen sitting in the dugout using his mobile phone a few days ago. At present, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on him and issued a warning. BCCI’s anti-corruption unit had sent a show cause notice to Bhinder, in response to which Bhinder said that due to ill health he had to keep his mobile phone with him. After a thorough investigation of the matter, he has been warned.

When Romi Bhinder was using the mobile, Rajasthan Royals team batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi was also sitting near him. Even Vaibhav had peeked into the phone. There was no discussion regarding Vaibhav in this matter.

The investigators were not completely satisfied with Romi Bhinder’s answer, so it was considered necessary to take action against her. For this reason, a fine of Rs 1 lakh was imposed on him and a warning was also given. BCCI made it clear that if such cases come to light in future, strict action will be taken.

Did Vaibhav Suryavanshi also get punished?

The same report revealed that there was no discussion regarding punishment to Vaibhav Suryavanshi. It was said that Vaibhav is still a child and it would be better if the franchise explains the rules to him better. There is no point in scaring a young player. According to the rules, managers can use phones in the dressing room, but not in the dugout.

When players and staff members come to the dugout, they have to collect the phones. In the case of Romi Bhinder, no case of corruption came to light, but bringing a mobile phone into the dugout without permission was considered a serious crime.
