<p style="text-align: justify;">Ross Taylor, who retired after playing 450 matches in international cricket for New Zealand, will now be seen playing international cricket once again. Yes, 41 -year -old Ross Taylor has decided to play for Samoa, taking a uterna from retirement. Taylor is the second batsman to score the most runs for New Zealand in International Cricket. He has 18199 runs with 40 centuries and 93 fifty.  </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Ross Taylor will be seen playing for Samoa in Asia-East Asia-Pacific T20 World Cup 2026 qualifier. The tournament is to be played in Oman from 8 October. Ross Taylor wrote on Instagram, &#8220;I feel proud to announce that I will represent Samoa in cricket wearing a blue jersey. This decision is more than a return to cricket. Representing my heritage, culture, villages and family is a great honor for me. I am excited to give back the game, and share my experiences inside and outside the field.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Ross Taylor retired in 2022</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">For your information, let us know that Ross Taylor made his debut in international cricket in 2006. At the same time, he said goodbye to international cricket in 2022. Taylor played 112 Tests, 236 ODIs and 102 T20 matches for New Zealand. Taylor (18,199 runs) is the second batsman to score the most runs in international cricket for New Zealand. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Ross Taylor played his last match for New Zealand in April 2022, after which he is now eligible to play for another national team after completing a three-year stand-out period. He has got a passport of Samoa due to his mother&#8217;s legacy. Samoa, captained by Kaleb Jasmat, has surprised everyone in a sub-regional qualifying. This team has defeated teams like Vanuatu, Cook Islands and Fiji to make it to the new Hybrid Asia/East Asia-Pacific qualifier.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This tournament with 9 teams is going to start from October 8. Samoa has represented the East Asia-Pacific along with Papua New Guinea and Japan. These teams will clash for three T20 World Cup places. Oman, Nepal, Kuwait, Malaysia, Qatar and UAE are also participating in the tournament. </p>

He has decided to play in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia-East Asia Pacific qualifier not for New Zealand but for Samoa. It is not just a return to the game that I love. It will be a great respect for me to represent my heritage, culture, villages and family.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Taylor has the ability to play for Samoa, because his mother comes from Samoa. It has been more than 3 years since he played a last match for New Zealand, so Ross Taylor can now play for another country in international cricket.</p>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">450 matches played for New Zealand</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Ross Taylor, 41, played 450 matches for New Zealand in international cricket. He scored 18,199 runs in Tests, ODIs and T20s. He was also a part of the New Zealand Test team which won the 2021 World Test Championship title.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The T20 World Cup Asia East Asia Pacific Regional qualifier will start its campaign in the final phase from the match against Oman on 8 October. Samoa is placed in Group C with Papua New Guinea and Oman. Samoa can make it to Super-6 by staying in the top-2 of this group. At the same time, the team which will remain in the top-3 of the Super-6 phase will qualify for the World Cup.</p>
