We could have bowled even better in the middle overs.” Regarding keeping the finishers in check, he said, “It was also a matter of lefty-righty. To be honest, I don’t know exactly. There were eight-nine overs left, we wanted to delay it a little more. Eight-nine runs were being scored in the spinners’ overs. There was no need to think too much about it.”

“Kyle Jamieson has received one demerit point and been warned for breaching Level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct for players and team officials,” the statement said. Jamieson was found to have breached Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures that are demeaning or likely to provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in a match.”

It was told in the statement that the bowler has accepted his mistake. “After dismissing Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Jamieson was found to be standing too close to him in an aggressive manner, which could have provoked an aggressive reaction from the batsman. Jamieson admitted his offense and accepted the punishment given by match referee Rajeev Seth.”
