In the eliminator match of IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 47 runs. Hyderabad team could not stand before the storm of Vaibhav Suryavanshi. On the basis of this victory, Rajasthan has made it to Qualifier 2, where it will face Gujarat Titans on May 29. Sunrisers are out of IPL 2026.

In this match played at Mullanpur ground, Rajasthan team batted first and scored 243 runs. This was the second highest score in playoff history. In response, SRH team was able to score 196 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. For Hyderabad, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen, all three in-form batsmen flopped.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history

Vaibhav Suryavanshi wreaked such havoc in batting that Rajasthan team had scored 125 runs in just 8 overs. Vaibhav played an inning of 97 runs in 29 balls. Vaibhav had a chance to break Chris Gayle’s record of fastest century (30 balls), but he was out on the 29th ball of his innings. But he broke the record of hitting most sixes in a season. Vaibhav has hit 65 sixes so far in IPL 2026. Chris Gayle had hit 59 sixes in the 2012 season.

Rajasthan, SRH out of Qualifier 2

Rajasthan Royals have made it to Qualifier 2 by winning the eliminator match. He will face Gujarat Titans in the second qualifier. Titans, who had lost to Royal Challengers in the first qualifier match. This match will also be played on Mullanpur ground like eliminator. The winner of Qualifier 2 will face RCB in the final. Whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad team is out of IPL 2026 after losing the eliminator.
