Recruitment process

For railway jobs, candidates have to apply through Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) or Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC).

GK, Maths, Reasoning, Science and Current Affairs are asked in the exam. Also, skill test / physical efficiency test is done, document verification and medical test are also conducted. After passing all the stages, a merit list is made and selection is done on the basis of that.

Salary and facilities

The initial salary in railway jobs ranges from 25,000 to 45,000 per month. The annual package can reach about 3.5 lakh to 5.5 lakhs. Apart from this, free or discounted train travel, railway quarters, medical facilities, pension and gratuity are also available.

If you are preparing for a government job in railway, then this is a great opportunity for you. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued a short notification of recruitment of 6180 posts of Technician Grade-1 and Grade-III for youths across the country. Through this recruitment, qualified youth in the technical field will get a chance to join the service of the railway.

The recruitment process will start from 28 June 2025 and you will be able to apply online by 28 July 2025. To apply, you have to go to the official website of the railway rrbapply.gov.in. As soon as the application link is active, you can start the application process.

This recruitment includes 180 posts for Technician Grade-1 and 6000 posts for Technician Grade-III. All these posts will be filled in different railway zones, whose details will be found in detailed notifications.

Age limit

Now let’s talk about the age limit. The minimum age for both posts has been fixed at 18 years and maximum age is 30 years. However, according to government rules, age relaxation will be given to reserved classes (SC, ST, OBC, PWD).

How much salary?

Talking about salary, selected candidates for the post of Technician Grade-1 will get about Rs 29,200 per month and Rs 19,900 per month for Technician Grade-III. Apart from this, other government allowances and facilities will also be available.

How to apply?

The application process will be very easy. First go to the RRB website, then click on the link ‘Apply Online’. After this you have to fill all your necessary information – like names, educational qualifications, mobile numbers, emails etc. Then upload scanned photos and signature. Submit the application fee and finally submit the form. Keep a printout of the form safe for the future.

At present, only short notifications have been issued, but soon the detail notification will also come in which complete information will be given about the examination pattern, syllabus, qualification and selection process.
