The month of Sawan is dedicated to Lord Shiva. As soon as Sawan starts, devotees worship Shivling and offer dear things. Belpatra is also one of the dear things of Lord Shiva. God is pleased by offering Belpatra.

There is a belief behind offering Belpatra to Lord Shiva that, when Shiva drank the halahal poison that came out of the controversy churning, his body’s heat had increased a lot, which the gods offered water and bell -leaf by the gods. Since then, Belpatra became an integral part of Shiva worship.

The three leaves of Belpatra are considered to be a symbol of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Belpatra must be offered in all worship related to Shiva. At the same time, in the month of Sawan, every day you can offer a bell leaf to Lord Shiva.

But in the Shiva Purana, some days have been told about such days in which breaking the bell leaf is forbidden. Therefore, even if you offer bell leaf in the spring, but do not break even by forgetting the belpatra in the forbidden days. You can break the bell leaf one day before that.

It is believed that Belpatras are not stale for six months. Therefore, you can break it anytime. Not only this, if you do not have a bell -leaf around you or the bell -leaf is not available, then you can also wash the already climbed belpatra in the temple and offer it again.

According to the Puranas, Chaturthi, Ashtami, Navami, Dwadashi, Chaturdashi, Amavasya, Purnima, Sankranti, Sankranti, Monday should never be broken on Monday and afternoon. Shivji is angry with breaking Belpatra on these dates.
