Vladimir Putin Statement: Russian President Vladimir Putin completely rejected the new sanctions imposed by the US on his country’s two largest oil companies. He said that these sanctions are an attempt to put pressure on Moscow, but Russia will not succumb to any external pressure.

Putin said, ‘No self-respecting country does anything under pressure.’ His comments came when Washington imposed stringent sanctions on Russia’s two major oil companies, Rosneft and Lukoil. This step of America has been taken in response to Russia’s refusal for immediate ceasefire in Ukraine.

‘Oil prices will increase due to sanctions’

Vladimir Putin claimed that he had already warned US President Donald Trump that these sanctions could destabilize the global energy market and increase oil prices, which would also affect America itself. He said, ‘We had said very clearly that this will affect global oil prices, including the US.’

Russia-as tensions: Victor Vodolatski, a senior member of the Russian Parliament Duma, has claimed that the two American nuclear submarines have been ordered by US President Donald Trump to deploy against Russia, already an eye of Russian nuclear submarines. He said that the number of Russian submarines in the seas of the world is much more than in the US, so there is no need for any response from the US.

Vodolatski told the government news agency Tass, “The areas where the US President has been deployed to deploy submarines has been under our control for a long time. There is no need for any answer from the Russian Union.” He further said that “Now the time has come that there should be a basic agreement between Russia and America, so that the world can believe that there is no possibility of the Third World War.”

Trump gave information about deployment after inflammatory statement

Donald Trump on Friday posted on his social media site ‘Truth Social’ and said that he has ordered two American nuclear submarines to be deployed in some “appropriate areas”. He had said this step in response to the inflammatory statements of former Russian President and currently National Security Council Vice President Dimitri Medvedev.

Fiodor Lukyanov, editor of ‘Russia in Global Affairs’ magazine, has advised not to take Trump’s statement seriously. He said, “Trump speaks from a personal channel and his reaction is emotional and sudden. The US Navy may have read it with surprise.” Lukyanov also said that if this debate continues, Trump may have to take some concrete steps, but at the moment it is all at the level of ‘talk’.

Following Trump’s statement, the Moscow Exchange Index recorded a decline of 2,709.26 points (0.99%) on Friday evening. An atmosphere of concern was seen in investors.

Russia agreed to avoid confrontation between America: Lavrov
Meanwhile, reacting to the recent interview of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov said that Russia agrees that there should be no direct military confrontation between Washington and Moscow. He said, “When European countries are trying to include Ukraine in NATO and are preparing for a confrontation with Russia, the US has taken a responsible stand.” Lavrov admitted that this shared understanding has been made through dialogue between the US and Russia, which is necessary for global stability.
