But the real hero of Bengaluru’s victory was Krunal Pandya, who played a match-winning inning of 73 runs in 46 balls. Now a controversy has arisen in the name of Pandya, because during the Tamil commentary, former cricketer S Badrinath said something, which has created a tsunami of comments trolling Badrinath on social media.

Badrinath commented, the match went into chaos

When Krunal Pandya was standing firmly at the crease, he was continuously having cramps. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper Ryan Rickleton helped Pandya. Usually players of the opposition team have been coming forward to help. The uproar started not over Pandya or Rickleton but over Badrinath’s statement.

Badrinath said during the Tamil commentary that Rickleton should not have helped Krunal Pandya even if he died. The trollers became more enraged because Badrinath had made the comment of ‘dying’ while laughing.

Amidst the uproar on social media, S Badrinath had to post his clarification. Badrinath said, “My attitude cannot be such that I say, ‘Let him die there.’ I will go ahead and help him in stretching. Ryan Rickleton did a good job, for which he and Mumbai Indians should also get fair play points. For those who don’t understand Tamil, let me explain what I actually said.”

Let us tell you that S Badrinath has played for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. In his 95-match IPL career, he scored 1441 runs, which also included 11 half-centuries. He retired from all forms of cricket in August 2018.
