S jaishankar on pakistan: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has said that the recent conflict between India and Pakistan was not just a conflict between two neighbors, but it was a fight against terrorism that would eventually bother Western countries.

Jaishankar also talked about the European Union-India-free trade in an interview with European news website Uractor on Wednesday (June 11, 2025) and emphasized that India with a population of 1.4 billion provides efficient labor and more reliable economic partnership than China.

What did Jaishankar say on the question of Operation Sindoor?

Jayashankar, who went on a trip to Europe about a month after the ‘Operation Sindoor’, retaliated after the Pahalgam terror attack, said, “I want to remind you one thing that there was a man named Osama bin Laden. Why did he feel safe for years in a city with an army cant in Pakistan? “He was answering a question asked about the recent four -day struggle between India and Pakistan.

‘This terrorism will bother you’

Criticizing the international media for presenting Operation Sindoor as a vengeance between two nuclear weapon neighbors, he said, “I want the world to understand that it is not just an India-Pakistan issue.” It is about terrorism and this terrorism will eventually bother you (Western countries).

What did Jaishankar say on Russia Ukraine War?

When asked why India was not involved in the sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia, Jaishankar said that differences cannot be resolved through war. He said, “We do not believe that differences can be resolved through war, we do not believe that a solution will come out of the battlefield.” It is not our job to decide what that solution should be. ”

Jaishankar said that India has strong relations not only with Russia but also with Ukraine. He said, “But every country, naturally, considers its experience, history and interests. India’s oldest complaint is that our borders were violated only a few months after independence, when Pakistan sent intruders in Kashmir and which countries supported it the most? Western country. ”

He further said, “If the same country- who were evasive at that time or were silent- now says” Let us discuss meaningful about international principles “, then I think it is appropriate to ask him to consider his past.”

What did Jaishankar say on CBAM?

On a question associated with the European Union’s carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM), Jaishankar said that India is not opposing it, but has some objections. He said, “We are opposed to some parts of it. We have some objections about CBAM and we have been talking about it very openly. The idea that a part of the world will set standard for everyone else, something that we are against. ”

The CBAM is employed by the European Union in view of carbon emitted during the manufacture of imported goods from countries like India and China. The move has launched a debate on multilateral forums, including the United Nations Climate Conferences, as poor countries are afraid that such fees may harm livelihood and economic development. On the US-India relations, Jaishankar said, “Our aim is to deepen every relationship that is in favor of our interests, and relations with America are very important for us.”

Also read: ‘Some say something and do something’, what is Mohammad Yunus saying about relations with India sitting in London?
