The third match of the five -match Test series between India and England was played at Lord’s. In this exciting match, the Indian team lost by 22 runs. Indian bowlers made the match easy for Team India by performing brilliantly. Team India had to score only 193 runs in the fourth innings, but the Indian batsmen disappointed everyone. Ravindra Jadeja (61*) continued to fight till the last, but he could not win the match for India. Along with crores of Indian fans, former veteran Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly also broke their heart due to this defeat.

Sachin-Ganguli said this after Lord’s defeat

This defeat of the Indian team broke the hearts of crores of fans. After this defeat, Sachin and Ganguly also looked quite disappointed. Posting on X, Sachin wrote, “So close, yet so far … Jadeja, Bumrah and Siraj struggled till the last. Well attempts, Team India. England played well to maintain pressure and he achieved the results that they needed.

At the same time, Ganguly posted on X and wrote, “What was the Test match … India will be very disappointed with Lord’s … he played very well in all 3 Tests. But 2–1 … It was a Test match that was won by winning .. Jadeja worked hard and showed that the score of 193 was not big.”

2–1 in England ahead in series

England won the first match of the series by 5 wickets at Leeds ground. After this, the Indian team won in Edgbaston in the second match. Before the Lord’s Test, both teams were at 1-1. India had the best chance in this match, to gain an edge in the series. But India could not achieve a small target of 193 runs and England won the match by 22 runs and fell 2–1 in the series.
