Sachin Tendulkar, former legendary batsman of Team India and known as the God of Cricket, remembered his coach Ramakant Achrekar on the occasion of Guru Purnima (Guru Purnima 2026). Legendary Tendulkar shared some pictures from Achrekar’s memorial located in Shivaji Park, Mumbai.

Sachin became emotional remembering his Guru. He said that it always feels like there is one thank you left to say. Apart from this, he thanked Coach Achrekar in many ways.

Tendulkar wrote in his social media post, “Standing here today, I realized something. No matter how many years have passed, I always feel that one more thank you is left to say.”

Expanding his point, he further wrote, “Thank you for believing in me, guiding me and making me the person I am today. Happy Guru Purnima, Achrekar Sir.”

Let us tell you that coach Ramakant Achrekar is called Dronacharya of cricket. He coached legendary batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli. Apart from this, he also coached many Indian players. Sachin often remembers his guru on special occasions.

Ramakant Achrekar’s memorial was built in Shivaji Park, Mumbai in 2024. He made a big contribution to Indian cricket by giving India a batsman like Sachin Tendulkar.

Sachin Tendulkar’s international career

If we look at Sachin Tendulkar’s international career, he played 200 Tests, 463 ODIs and 1 T20 International. His international career lasted 24 years. Batting in 329 innings of Test, the legendary Tendulkar scored 15921 runs at an average of 53.78, which included 51 centuries and 68 half-centuries. In 452 innings of ODI, Tendulkar scored 18426 runs at an average of 44.83, which included 49 centuries and 96 half-centuries. He scored only 10 runs in the only innings of the remaining T20 International.
