Department of Local Self Government has released the official notice of Rajasthan Safai Karmachari Recruitment 2026. Under this recruitment drive, more than 24,000 contractual sanitation workers will be recruited in 183 urban bodies of the state. The special thing is that no educational qualification has been made mandatory for recruitment. This means that candidates who have never studied in school will also be able to apply if they fulfill the prescribed experience conditions. The online application process is starting from 15 August 2026.

There will be no written examination or interview

The biggest feature of this recruitment is that neither written examination nor interview will be conducted for selection. Candidates will be selected through lottery system. Separate lotteries will be drawn for each urban body. According to the department, preference will be given to candidates having experience of cleaning work for at least one year in the concerned urban body. If sufficient eligible candidates are not found in any body, then candidates having work experience in other urban bodies of Rajasthan will also be included in the lottery process.

Who can apply?

The candidate applying for recruitment must be a permanent resident of Rajasthan. No educational qualification has been prescribed for this, but it will be necessary for the candidate to be physically and mentally healthy. Apart from this, the candidate should have at least 1 year of cleaning work experience. This experience can be continuous or of varying duration. The experience certificate must have been issued by the competent authority specified in the notice. Each candidate will be able to apply only for one of the 183 urban bodies.

Age Limit and Application Fees

The minimum age of the candidate for recruitment has been fixed at 21 years and maximum 40 years. Age will be calculated on the basis of 1 January 2027. According to government rules, reserved categories will also get relaxation in age limit. Whereas general category candidates applying for recruitment will have to pay an application fee of Rs 600, the application fee for reserved category and disabled candidates has been fixed at Rs 400.

When and how to apply

The online application process for this recruitment will start from August 15. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply online by visiting the recruitment portal. After filling the application form, online payment will have to be made by depositing the fees as per the prescribed category.
