The accident took place on Sunday (26 October) evening in Sheikhpura industrial area in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Here, a boiler in a tire factory exploded with a massive explosion, killing two workers on the spot, while five workers sustained burn injuries.

According to the police, seven workers were injured in this accident, of which five were rescued but two died. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot.

Superintendent of Police Vyom Bindal said that the cause of the fire is being investigated. Oil is extracted from tires in this factory. The sound of explosion in the boiler spread panic in the entire area. Flames started rising and smoke started rising towards the sky. SP Bindal said that technical evidence suggests that the explosion was caused by excessive pressure in the boiler.
