Salary increase will be decided by fitment factor

How much the salary of employees will increase in the Eighth Pay Commission will largely depend on the fitment factor. If the fitment factor remains around 2.57, then the basic pay can increase by about 30–34 percent. Also, the salary range can go from around Rs 46,260 to Rs 6,42,500.

If the Commission decides to increase the fitment factor to 3.0, then the salary may increase to between Rs 54,000 and Rs 7,50,000. At the level of 3.25, this range can reach around Rs 58,500 to Rs 8,12,500. If the fitment factor is fixed more, the employees are likely to get more benefits.

When can the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?

If we look at the time of implementation of the previous Pay Commission, it may take some time for the new Pay Commission to be implemented. It took about 2.5 years for the 7th Pay Commission to be implemented. At the same time, the 6th Pay Commission was implemented in about 2 years and the 5th Pay Commission was implemented in about 3.5 years.

How much arrears can be received?

Employees will get the benefit of arrears in case of delay in the Eighth Pay Commission. According to estimates, lower level employees are likely to get arrear benefits of more than Rs 3 lakh. At the same time, the arrears of Level 5 employees can exceed Rs 9 lakh.
