BCCI’s new contract system

BCCI released the Annual Player Retainership 2024–25 (Senior Women) in March 2025. In this, players are divided into three grades based on their performance. A, B and C.

Grade A – Rs 50 lakh annually

Three veteran players are included in this category – Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma. These three players are considered the backbone of India’s victory.

Grade B – Rs 30 lakh annually

This group includes four players, Renuka Thakur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh and Shafali Verma.

Grade C – Rs 10 lakh annually

A total of nine players have been included in this category, which include names like Radha Yadav, Amanjot Kaur, Uma Chhetri and Sneh Rana.

Equality in match fees, but less opportunities

Men and women players are now paid equal fees per match,

Test Match: 15 lakh rupees

ODI: 6 lakh rupees

T20: 3 lakh rupees

This change was implemented by BCCI in the year 2023, so that gender-based pay inequality can be eliminated and equal salary can be provided. However, one big difference still remains. The men’s team plays many times more matches than the women’s team, due to which their total earnings increase significantly.

Salary structure of men’s team

BCCI released Senior Men’s Annual Player Retainership 2024–25 in April 2025. In this, players are divided into four grades.

Grade A Plus : Rs 7 crore (including veterans like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah)

Grade A: Rs 5 crore

Grade B : Rs 3 crore

Grade C : 1 crore rupees
