Series tied at 1-1

Let us tell you that the ODI series is tied at 1-1. In the first match, Bangladesh had won by 8 wickets. Then in the second match, Pakistan took revenge and won by 128 runs under DLS. Rain had disrupted this match.

Last Friday, the second match of the ODI series was played between Pakistan and Bangladesh. In this match, Pakistan team had registered a huge victory of 128 runs using Duckworth-Lewis method. But this match was more in discussion due to Salman Agha’s run out controversy than Pakistan’s victory. In this case, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has given severe punishment to Salman Aga for violating Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct.

During the Pakistani innings, Bangladesh captain Mehdi Hasan Miraj had run out Salman Aga at the non-striking end. Salman was not in his crease, due to which Mehdi Hasan hit the ball on the stumps as soon as he got the chance. Salman has said that Bangladesh team should have shown sportsmanship there. But the ICC has punished him because of his behavior because after being run out, he threw his gloves in anger.

ICC issued a statement saying that Salman Aga has been found guilty of Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct. This pertains to cricket equipment or throwing clothing and ground equipment. For bad behaviour, he has been fined 50 percent of his match fee and also given one demerit point. Salman Agha has also accepted his mistake, hence there was no need for any hearing in this matter.

This incident happened in the 39th over of Pakistani innings. Mehdi Hasan Miraj was bowling and Mohammad Rizwan was batting and Salman Agha was present at the non-striking end. Rizwan pushed the ball and the ball was coming in the direction of the bowler. First the ball hit Salman Agha’s bat and while trying to catch the ball, Mehdi Hasan and Salman Agha collided. Salman was out of his crease, but instead of returning to his crease, he bent down to pick up the ball, when Mehdi Hasan picked up the ball and hit it on the stumps.
