A major change has been announced in the syllabus of NCRT. In fact, now the stories of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Brigadier Mohammad Usman and Major Somnath Sharma will be included in the students’ syllabus. What happened in the syllabus?

According to the official tweet of the Ministry of Defense, NCERT has added stories of life and sacrifices of three brave soldiers in its syllabus. The story of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw will now be taught in the 8th grade Urdu book. The story of Brigadier Mohammad Usman will be in the 7th grade Urdu book and the story of Major Somnath Sharma has been included in the 8th grade English book. This step was taken so that children could take inspiration from the valor and sacrifice of the soldiers of the country. The Ministry of Defense says that this will not only give information about the military history of India to the children, but will also learn courage, sympathy, emotional understanding and to contribute to the creation of the country.

Who were these three heroes?

Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw: Sam Manekshaw is also known by the name of Sam Bahadur. He was the country’s first field marshal, who reached this rank in 1973. Born on 3 April 1914 in Amritsar, Manekshaw died on 27 June 2008. He played a big role in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, in which 93,000 Pakistani soldiers surrendered. Bangladesh is a free country today because of his strategy and courage. The story of their life will tell children how hard work can be defeated by hard work and freshly.

Brigadier Mohammad Usman: Brigadier Mohammad Usman was one of the Muslim soldiers of India who served the country regardless of his life in the 1947 Indo-Pakistan war. He was born on 15 July 1912 in Bibipur, Uttar Pradesh. On 3 July 1948, he was martyred in the battlefield. Usman vowed to withdraw Jhangar from the enemy in Jammu and Kashmir and fulfilled it by giving his life. Their story will teach children that true patriotic religion chooses the country above religion.

Major Somnath Sharma: Major Somnath Sharma was the first Paramveer Chakra winner of the country, which was given posthumously to him. He was born on 31 January 1923 and on 3 November 1947, he was martyred in the afternoon of Kashmir. He took on the enemies with his entire company to protect the Srinagar airport. Due to his bravery, today we consider Kashmir safe. Their story will teach children that they should also die for their duty.

Who was Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw?

Sam Manekshaw was one of the first batch cadets of the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun. He received a commission in the British Indian Army in the year 1934 and his first posting took place in Burma (now Myanmar). During World War II, he bravely fought and continued to serve in the army despite being seriously injured.

Important role played in 1971 war

The India-Pakistan War in 1971, his strategy and leadership gave India a historic victory and Bangladesh was created. His understanding and courage made him a national hero. After this victory, he was awarded the title of Field Marshall in 1973.

Friendship was good between the two, Yahya Khan liked a bike from Sam Manekshaw. He asked Sam to sell them. It is said that Manekshaw gave that bike to Yahya Khan for 1000 rupees. When the two countries separated, both of them had to take charge of their country’s army, but Sam Manekshaw never paid the price of the bike.

Bike money was not paid even after years

It had been more than 23 years since the two countries separated, but till now Yahya Khan had not given that 1000 rupees of the bike to Sam Manekshaw yet. Both had moved forward in their lives. Yahya Khan’s administration in East Pakistan was torturing him a lot. The people of East Pakistan did not have the rights like Western Pakistanis. In such a situation, in 1971, there was a war to separate East Pakistan i.e. Bangladesh from Pakistan.

The price of the bike had to be paid by paying half the country

India was attacked by Pakistan in 1971, after which Sam Manekshaw’s army taught Pakistan a good lesson. Then on 16 December 1971, a new country Bangladesh emerged. Yahya Khan had lost badly. The price of the bike was not paid by Yahya Khan even then, but Sam Manekshaw was also known for funny style. After the 1971 war, Sam Manekshaw said in his statement that Yahya Khan has paid the price of my bike by paying half his country.
