A huge decline has been recorded in the voter list in many Muslim-dominated assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. On comparing the final voter list of April 10, 2026 with the pre-SIR list of October 27, 2025, it was found that the number of voters in these areas has decreased more than the average. Especially in some areas of Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Badaun, Shahjahanpur and Lucknow, this decline has reached 15 to 29 percent.

The maximum decline was 28.88 percent in Lucknow Central, 27.79 percent in Meerut Cantt, 25.95 percent in Bareilly Cantt, 25.80 percent in Arya Nagar Kanpur, 25.10 percent in Bareilly and 24.32 percent in Shahjahanpur. Apart from these, a decrease of 23.19 percent was seen in Meerut South, 21.81 percent in Aligarh, 21.87 percent in Bahraich, 18.73 percent in Moradabad Rural, 18.86 percent in Chandausi, 18.54 percent in Rampur and 18.10 percent in Badaun. Voters also decreased by 18.60 percent in Lucknow West and 15.99 percent in Saharanpur Nagar. A decline of 16.10 percent was recorded in Muzaffarnagar. There was a decrease of 2,27,255 (14.47) voters in Sambhal.

29270 votes have decreased in Swar, 19,146 in Kundarki, 1,22,263 votes in Amroha. In Khalilabad 61,496, Tanda 30,692, Sisamau 50558 votes have decreased. There has been a decrease of 35880 voters in Pilibhit and 106061 voters in Shahjahanpur. There has been a decrease of 29678 voters in Nagina and 27319 voters in Asmoli. With this, Gangoh 46072, Meerut South 118280 voters have decreased. Apart from this, votes have decreased by 22574 in Nauganwa Sadat, 24541 in Kairana, 24181 in Thakurdwara.

All these seats fall in areas where the Muslim population is much higher than the state average. In Western Uttar Pradesh, Rohilkhand and some other areas, the number of Muslim voters ranges from 30 to 50 percent. Muslim voters have been playing an important role in influencing the election results in many seats in these areas. Overall, the average decline in entire Uttar Pradesh was 13.24 percent, but it appears to be much higher in these Muslim dominated seats.

A statement by a police officer of Sambhal Police has created a stir in the political circles, Sambhal CO Kuldeep Kumar said in the peace committee meeting, “Some people are beating their chests for Iran that Iran has been killed, if it is so much then go away Iran. A meeting of the Peace Committee was organized in the Kotwali premises regarding the upcoming festival of Goodbye Friday and Eid in Sambhal. CJM court ordered to register FIR

Former CO of Sambhal district Anuj Chaudhary was promoted by the UP government and made Additional SP (ASP). He is a 2012 batch PPS officer and now he is the first police officer to reach this post from sports quota. Earlier, no officer from the sports quota had reached the post of Additional SP.

Before joining the police, he was an international level wrestler. He participated in the national championship continuously from 1997 to 2014.

He won silver medals in the 2002 and 2010 National Games. He also won medals in the Asian Championships from 2005 to 2009. Anuj, who won the silver medal in the 2010 Commonwealth Games, also represented India in the 2004 Athens Olympics. After promotion, Anuj Choudhary was honored by SP KK Bishnoi and ASP Rajesh Kumar Srivastava by putting Ashoka Pillar on his uniform.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting of Sambhal district on Sunday. The Chief Minister learned about the development works going on here. Along with this, the Chief Minister also reviewed the law and order situation. Then the government and district officials were directed to develop Sambhal in a phased manner. Development of Sambhal is the priority of the government. In the first phase, get the ancient pilgrimage sites and wells renovated. The Chief Minister also asked for immediate action on the process of construction of District Court, Prison and PAC in Sambhal. He reviewed the work of many departments including revenue, home, justice, charitable work, public works, tourism-culture, urban development. Chief Minister Yogi said that there are 68 pilgrimage sites and 19 wells in Sambhal. The state government is working for the restoration and identification of these pilgrimage sites. He directed the local administration to get these works done at a fast pace.

The Chief Minister said that all departments should have offices in the Integrated Complex building. The Chief Minister was told that 93 percent land has been purchased for residential and non-residential buildings. The Chief Minister gave instructions to speed up the work along with preparation of DPR. CM Yogi also directed to speed up the process of land acquisition for the establishment of District Court, Prison and PAC.

CM Yogi gave instructions to speed up the construction of CBG plant

Police have registered an FIR in the case of misbehavior with the team of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in Shahi Jama Masjid located in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. This case pertains to two members of the mosque’s arrangement committee stopping ASI officials from entering the main dome and behaving in an objectionable manner.

According to police sources, ASI Superintending Archaeologist Vinod Singh Rawat said that his team had gone to the mosque under Meerut Circle on October 8 to inspect the conservation work. During the inspection, mosque employees Hafiz and Mohammad Kashif Khan stopped the ASI team from going inside the dome.

ASI team forced to return after protest

It is alleged in the case that an unknown person also tried to create a dispute on the spot and used objectionable language. Due to this, the ASI team could not complete its inspection and was forced to return to Meerut. FIR registered against Hafiz and Mohammad Kashif

Sambhal police station in-charge Gajendra Singh said that on the basis of the complaint, an FIR has been registered against Hafiz and Mohammad Kashif Khan under sections 132 (use of force to prevent a government servant from performing duty), 352 (intentional insult) and 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Police have started investigating the case and efforts are being made to arrest the accused.
