Due to this, Samsung has canceled the plan to launch the next generation model S26 Edge of this phone.

Samsung will discontinue Edge lineup

According to Korean media outlet Newspim, Samsung will not launch the S26 Edge next year. This decision has been taken in view of the low sales of S25 Edge. The company has also given this message to its employees that the Edge line is being discontinued. The company will stop its production once the existing stock is sold. Looking at this experience, there seems to be no possibility of Samsung launching an ultra-slim phone in the near future.

Sales figures not satisfactory

According to reports, only 1.31 million units of S25 Edge have been sold till August this year. In comparison, S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra have sold 8.28 million, 5.05 million and 12.18 million units respectively. However, one thing to keep in mind is that the S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra were launched in January, while the Edge model was launched in May.

This model will be launched in place of S26 Edge

Earlier there were reports that Samsung will launch Edge model in place of S26 Plus next year, but looking at the current situation, S26 Plus’ place in the lineup has been confirmed. Next year, the company will launch Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra models in its flagship series. S26 Pro will be launched in place of the base model of the lineup.

Big change in camera design

Leaked photos reflect the back design of these phones. In S26 Pro and S26 Ultra, minor changes have been made in the camera module. At the same time, S26 Edge can bring a completely new look. Wide camera modules have been given on its rear panel which covers the entire width of the phone.

This design seems to be very similar to the iPhone 17 Pro series. Although the iPhone 17 Pro will have a triple camera setup while only dual camera can be given in S26 EDGE. This type of module can also prevent the phone from staggering by keeping the phone on the table.

New changes in S26 Pro and Ultra

In the S26 Pro, this time all three cameras will be in the same module whereas earlier they lived in different placements. The design of S26 Ultra is also seen slightly rounded. It will have three cameras in the new module, but laser autofocus and 10MP telephoto lenses can remain the same as before.

Charging support like Magsef?

The leak cover is also indicating that Samsung may bring QI2 wireless charging standard this time. This is the same technology that supports Apple’s magsafe charging. The round cutouts given in the cover indicate that the back panels of the phone can be magnets. If this happens, the use of Magsafe accessories will be possible in all models of the S26 series.
