There has been an attack in America’s largest mosque in San Diego. Here two teenagers opened fire indiscriminately, in which three people died. Later the attackers were found dead inside the vehicle.

According to CNN, FBI San Diego Special Agent in Charge Mark Remilly said that two teenage suspects were later found dead inside a vehicle near the Islamic Center of San Diego. San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said that two teenagers, ages 17 and 19, appear to have died of self-inflicted gunshot.

The accused had arrived with a gun from home

Authorities told CNN that one of the suspects took a gun from his home. He had also left a suicide note at his home, in which he had written things related to pride on the basis of race. Officials also said that hate speech was found written on one of the weapons used in the incident.

A security guard was also among the dead

He said that when officers reached the spot at around 11.45 am, three people were found dead. One of them was a security guard of the centre, whose wisdom saved the lives of many people. While officers were going door to door searching for the gunman, police received a report of shots fired a few blocks away.

Police is investigating from the angle of hate speech

Police are now trying to find out what led to the shooting, which is being investigated as a hate crime. ‘The Times’ quoted sources as saying that anti-Islam articles were found inside the vehicle in which the attackers were found dead. It was also reported that investigators had found a suicide note belonging to a suspect that mentioned racial pride.

The officer said a suspect is believed to have used the weapon from his parents’ home. Imam Taha Hassan of the mosque said, ‘We have never seen such a tragedy before. Targeting a place of worship is highly condemnable. People come to the Islamic Center to pray, celebrate and learn.
