Amidst the increasing tension in Asia regarding Taiwan, China has given a stern warning to Japan. China’s Defense Ministry said on Thursday (27 November 2025) that if Japan interferes in Taiwan’s affairs or crosses the line, it will have to pay a very painful price. This statement has come when Japan is preparing to deploy missiles on one of its islands about 100 kilometers away from Taiwan.

China angry over Japanese missile deployment near Taiwan
Japan’s Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi recently confirmed that plans to deploy medium-range surface-to-air missiles on Yonaguni Island are moving forward. This island is just 110 kilometers away from the east coast of Taiwan. Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has already said that if China launches a military attack on Taiwan, Japan can respond militarily, after which the tension in the relations between the two countries has further increased.

Japan has no right to interfere in Taiwan – China
Responding to Japan’s plan, China’s Defense Ministry spokesperson Jiang Bin said, the Taiwan issue is entirely China’s internal matter. Japan has nothing to do with it. He further said that Japan is forgetting its 1895-1945 colonial rule over Taiwan and is not learning from history.

Jiang warned that if Japan crossed the border even by half a step, it would have to suffer painful consequences. The Chinese army has the full capability to stop any enemy.

Taiwan said- our land, our decision
The Taiwan government again rejected China’s claims and said that only the people of Taiwan will decide what their future will be. Taiwan President Lai Ching-te this week announced plans to spend an additional $40 billion on defense over the next eight years. China reacted to this by saying that this money would be ‘wasted’ and would only cause loss to Taiwan.

China itself is increasing spending, why not us?- Taiwan’s answer
On China’s opposition, Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council spokesperson Liang Wen-chieh said, China’s defense budget is many times more than Taiwan’s. If China wants peace then it should use this money for the welfare of its citizens. Liang also said that the increasing tension between the two sides is harmful for everyone. Taiwan has alleged that China’s military is carrying out activities in the sea and airspace around Taiwan almost every day, which it calls a tactic of pressure and intimidation.

People are afraid of bears in the mountainous Akita province of Japan. The situation has gone out of control and that is why the government has had to send the army to deal with it. This step has been taken on the request of local authorities.

The operation began in the city of Kazuno in Akita Prefecture, where for weeks residents have been advised to avoid venturing into nearby dense forests, stay home after dark and carry bells to scare away bears that come looking for food near their homes.

Total 12 deaths due to bear attack

According to the Environment Ministry, there have been more than 100 attacks across Japan since April, resulting in a record 12 deaths. Two-thirds of these were from Akita Prefecture and nearby Iwate Prefecture. Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Kei Sato said in a press conference in Tokyo on Wednesday (November 05, 2025), ‘In many areas, bears are entering populated areas and their attacks are causing loss of life and property.’

Akita officials say that this is the reason why we cannot delay any delay in taking measures to deal with bears. Bear sightings have increased six-fold this year to more than 8,000, prompting the province’s governor to seek help from Japan’s Self-Defense Forces (SDF) last week.

Rescue team deployed in bear attack area

An army truck, several jeeps and more than a dozen soldiers, some wearing body armor (bulletproof vests), gathered in Kazuno, a city of about 30,000 people, on Wednesday morning, Japan Today reported, citing a Reuters report.

These soldiers will help in transporting, setting and checking the box traps used to catch bears, but the work of killing them will be done by trained hunters, who will have more suitable weapons for the job. Due to the increasing number of bears, changes in natural food sources due to climate change and decreasing population in rural areas, bears and common people are facing conflict.

Bears seen 20,792 times in Japan

Japan Times, quoting data released by the Environment Ministry, said that till last Friday, bears were seen 20,792 times in Japan. According to statistics, in 2009, so many bears were seen at a record level, whereas in the first half of this financial year itself, this figure had reached more than 20,000.

In recent months, bears have attacked customers inside a supermarket, then attacked a tourist waiting at a bus stop near a UNESCO World Heritage site, and injured a worker cleaning bathing areas at a hot spring resort.

Japanese black and brown bears weigh so much

According to statistics, Japanese black bears (which are common in most parts of the country) can weigh up to 130 kilograms (287 pounds). On its northern island of Hokkaido, the brown bear can weigh up to 400 kg. Japan also deployed the military to help with wildlife control about ten years ago, when they conducted aerial surveillance to hunt wild deer.

At the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday (October 31) called on member countries to increase trade and investment, but also warned that they should not be part of the US effort to reduce the world’s dependence on China.

Xi Jinping became the only global superpower leader at the summit, after US President Donald Trump left South Korea a day earlier. At the beginning of the conference, he was seen smilingly shaking hands with the leaders and ministers of Japan, Canada, Australia and host South Korea.

What did Xi Jinping say in his address?

In his address, Xi said that Asia should stick to the policy of joining hands with each other, and not to the idea of breaking the supply chain. He indirectly made a strong comment on the efforts of Western countries to move factories out of China. “We should strengthen industrial supply chains, not break them,” Xi said.

In another speech to business leaders, read by his representative, Xi took indirect aim at the United States, saying APEC countries should oppose protectionism and unilateral policies and “save the world from returning to the law of the jungle.”

However, China’s recent policies have weakened Xi’s appeal somewhat. In October, Beijing proposed new export controls on rare earth minerals, which would have given it extraordinary control over other countries. These minerals play an important role in the manufacturing of modern technologies such as semiconductors, batteries and jet aircraft. China dominates almost 90% of the world’s supply.

After meeting with Trump, China agreed to temporarily halt these controls. This meeting turned into a kind of diplomatic ceasefire between the two leaders and Trump praised Xi’s stability.

Xi Jinping and Sanae Takaichi met

But on Friday, Xi faced Japan’s new Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who is considered a vocal critic of China. Takaichi raised issues of rare earth export controls, disputes in the East China Sea, and Japanese citizens detained on espionage charges in his meeting with Xi. He said that Japan has serious concerns about China’s military expansion in the South China Sea and human rights violations in Hong Kong and Xinjiang. Takaichi said, “There are definitely differences between us, but it is necessary to talk openly and directly on these issues.”

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is going to nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. The White House has given this information by issuing an official statement on Tuesday (October 28, 2025).

White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt said on Friday (October 28, 2025) that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will nominate President Trump for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize. This was announced by the White House after the meeting of Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi and US President Donald Trump in Tokyo on Tuesday (October 28, 2025). In which the leaders of both the countries had serious discussions on economic and security related issues.

Japanese Prime Minister said after meeting Trump

After meeting with US President Donald Trump in the capital Tokyo, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told journalists that in such a short time an atmosphere of peace has been created in the world. President Trump, I myself am very impressed and inspired by you.

Trump’s insistence on Nobel Peace Prize

Ever since Donald Trump took over as the President of the United States in January 2025, his focus has been on the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize. To achieve this, US President Donald Trump has claimed to restore peace by ending many conflicts around the world, including the conflict between India and Pakistan that took place in the month of May. However, Nobel Peace Prize experts refute his claims.

Leaders of many countries nominated Trump for Nobel

After Donald Trump’s claims of restoring peace, leaders of many countries of the world have also nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. In which leaders of many countries including Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz Sharif, Gabonese President Brice Nguema, Cambodia’s PM Hun Manet are included.

Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Sanae Takaichi has become the new Prime Minister of the country. She also created history by becoming the first woman Prime Minister of Japan. The LDP and the right-wing Japan Innovation Party (Ishin) achieved this victory in alliance, giving Sanae Takaichi the majority to become PM.

Sanae Takaichi has openly expressed her desire to become an ‘Iron Woman’. After the LDP party won the victory, in his speech he rejected the concept of work-life balance and urged party members to work hard and contribute to the progress of the country.

MPs urged to work like horses

Takaichi said, ‘I myself would reject the term ‘work-life balance’. I will just work, work, work. Apart from this, the new PM requested the party MPs to work as quickly as horses. However, this statement of PM was also criticized by many Japanese leaders.

Addressing the nation after the victory, Sanae Takaichi said, ‘At this moment, instead of happiness, I feel the difficulties to come. We have a lot of work to do together. This is what I believe, there are many policies which need to be implemented soon.

He further said, ‘Together we will make LDP a more enthusiastic, positive and energetic party. LDP will also have to make efforts to form a party that can convert people’s concerns into hope.

PM Modi congratulated the new Prime Minister of Japan

Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Sanae Takaichi on being elected Prime Minister of Japan and said that he is eager to work together to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

PM Modi said in a post on ‘X’, ‘Hearty congratulations Sanae Takaichi on your election as Prime Minister of Japan. I look forward to working with you to further strengthen the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership. Our deepening ties are vital for peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.

Sanae Takaichi: In India, October 20 was a happy day of Diwali, while in Japan, October 21 proved to be a historic day. For the first time in the history of Japan, a woman became the Prime Minister and Sanae Takaichi made this feat successful. According to Reuters report, Takaichi got 237 votes in the lower house of Japan’s Parliament, which is considered very high in the 465-seat house. She learned politics from former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and married the same person twice. However, even after marrying twice she could not become a mother. Let us tell you why women face this problem?

married twice

Takaichi’s critics also call him Daily Trump. He got this title because of his staunch image. She married fellow MP Taku Yamamoto in 2004, which lasted until 2017. Both of them got divorced in July 2017. However, both of them got married for the second time in December 2021, but neither of them have any children. In such a situation, she has adopted Yamamoto’s three children from his first marriage, due to which Takaichi is today the grandmother of four grandchildren.

Why couldn’t she become a mother?

Sanae Takaichi has strong views, vocally opposing both gay marriage and the right of married couples to have different surnames. Now let’s talk about why she could not become a mother. Although there is not much information about this available in the public domain, but if you look at Japanese outlets, you will find that Sanae Takaichi had written in her official column (in 2007) in Japanese that she had suffered from a gynecological disease, due to which she had to undergo surgery. After this, pregnancy and delivery became difficult for her, due to which she gave up her dream of becoming a mother.

What is gynecological disease?

Now let us tell you what is a gynecological disease? These are diseases related to the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix and vagina of women. These include problems like endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS, ovarian cyst or pelvic infection. Many times they have to be treated with surgery and in such a situation it can be difficult for a woman to conceive.

A historic moment has come in Japan. Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Sanae Takaichi is going to become the country’s first woman Prime Minister by winning the vote in the lower parliament. His oath ceremony is scheduled to take place today itself. 64 year old Sana Takaichi is known as the ‘Iron Lady’ of Japan. She is a big fan of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. This was his third attempt to reach the top power of Japan. With this, she will become the fourth consecutive Prime Minister who has been in power in the last five years while battling the party’s scandals.

Sanae Takaichi is the leader of the strict conservative faction of the LDP and is considered a disciple of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. His political image has been firm and taking tough decisions. After becoming the Prime Minister, he will face many big challenges. First of all, to deal with Japan’s economic recession. Apart from this, balancing the US-Japan relations and unifying the party after the disagreements and scandals within the party will also be a big challenge.

Sane is adding a new chapter of women leadership

Experts believe that in Japan the Prime Minister keeps changing frequently, but Sanae Takaichi’s victory is adding a new chapter of women leadership in this change. Under his leadership, Japan hopes that there will be a new direction in the country’s policy and economy.

This new alliance still does not have a majority in both the houses of Parliament. This means that to pass any law, Takaichi will have to include other opposition parties with him. This is the reason why his tenure cannot last long. According to the information, Takaichi has also been a heavy-metal drummer and biker. He entered politics for the first time in 1993 by winning elections from his hometown Nara. After this, she has worked on many important positions like economic security, internal affairs and gender equality.

Sanae Takaichi considers Margaret Thatcher as her political idol and also completely agrees with Shinzo Abe’s conservative viewpoint. She is considered quite staunch on foreign affairs and has been active in reviewing Japan’s wartime history. Additionally, she has been a regular visitor to the Yasukuni shrine.

PM Modi congratulated

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Japan’s new Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on her election victory. Prime Minister Modi tweeted that he looks forward to working with Takaichi to further strengthen the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership. PM Modi said in his tweet, “Our deep relations are extremely important for peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.”
