An important hearing was held in the Delhi High Court regarding the ongoing dispute regarding the will of late businessman Sanjay Kapoor. Sanjay Kapoor’s wife Priya Kapoor told the court that it is not unusual for a husband to transfer all his property to his wife, but it is a strong tradition which is being followed in their family too.

Sanjay’s father had given his entire property to his wife Rani Kapoor in his will.

Delhi High Court: The lawyer appearing on behalf of Priya Kapoor told the court that Sanjay’s father had also given his entire property in the name of wife Rani Kapoor in his will. Similarly, in Sanjay Kapoor’s will also, his wife Priya has been made the heir, so there is no doubt about it.

Karisma Kapoor’s children have expressed objection to the will.

Samaira Kapoor and her brother, children of late Sanjay Kapoor’s first wife Karisma Kapoor, have filed an application claiming that their father’s alleged will has come to light under suspicious circumstances and it should be investigated. An interim order has also been sought on behalf of the children to stop Priya Kapoor from selling or transferring Sanjay’s property. On behalf of Priya Kapoor, it was said in the court that on February 10, 2025, the printout of the will was shown to Sanjay Kapoor. He suggested some changes which were finalized by 17 March 2025. The lawyer said that the wills of both Sanjay and Priya were prepared on the same day, as husband and wife usually do.

Priya Kapoor said no one was excluded from the will

It was also said in the Delhi High Court on behalf of Priya Kapoor that this is not a case of excluding anyone from the inheritance because both the children of Karisma Kapoor have already been given benefits of about Rs 2,000 crore through the family trust. Sanjay Kapoor died suddenly of cardiac arrest during a polo match in England on June 12, 2025. Delhi High Court will hear further in this matter on Friday.

In the petition filed by Karishma Kapoor’s children, Sanjay Kapoor’s will of March 21 has been challenged in which all her personal property is allegedly named in her step mother Priya Kapoor. It has been claimed in the application that neither Sanjay Kapoor ever mentioned about the will nor his step mother Priya Kapoor or any other person ever mentioned any about this. It is written in the petition- ‘The alleged will has been prepared by Priya. The application claimed that it is fake and concocted. This is the reason that neither the origned copy of the alleged will was shown nor any copy of the alleged will has been given to anyone.

If the will is fake then how many parts will be

If the will is fake under the Hindu Succession Rules, then Sanjay Kapoor’s property will be equal to class One heirs i.e. Priya Sachdev, Rani Kapoor, Adhara, Kian and Ajairyas.

Everyone from mother Rani Kapoor to Wife Priya Sachdev has done many couple over Sanjay Kapoor’s property. Sanjay Kapoor’s mother Rani Kapoor has claimed the son’s property. He has said that the monopoly on the property is his. They say that they have 7 grandchildren and they will decide who will get how much property.

Priya Sachdev’s claim is

Sanjay Kapoor’s wife Priya Sachdev has also claimed. The next day of Sanjay’s death, his company appointed Priya as a non-economic director in a meeting of board members the very next day. Priya has said in the court that she is the only heir of the entire property because she is the widow of Sanjay Kapoor.
