Batting first, Punjab scored 219 runs in 20 overs thanks to Nehal Vadhera and Shashank Singh’s half -century innings. Vadhera scored 70 runs in 37 balls and Shashank scored 59 not out in 30 balls.

After the match, captain Samson said that “We started very well, the openers scored 90 runs in the powerplay, we cannot ask for anything more than this, we could not pursue the Momentum found in the powerplay.”

Samson further said that “The kind of power hitters we had, this score was worth chasing. It is very difficult to impose it on one thing. We have to complete the work. Some experienced people should take responsibility and complete their work.”

This was the 10th defeat of Rajasthan this season. He has already been out of the tournament. Rajasthan has won only three matches out of 13 matches. He is ranked 9th on the points table with 6 points.
