Satyajit ray ancestral house in bangladesh: Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry confirmed on Thursday, 17 July that the building that is being demolished in Maman Singh has neither related to the famous filmmaker Satyajit Ray nor his grandfather Upendrakishore Rai Chaudhuri. Describing this building as historic, India had offered help in preserving it, but now the Bangladesh government has clarified on the basis of old documents that this property was of Shashikant Acharya Chaudhuri, a local landlord of Maman Singh.

Zamindar had built building
The statement said that this building was built by Zamindar Shashikant Acharya Chaudhuri near his bungalow ‘Shashi Lodge’ for his employees. After the end of the zamindari system, this property came under the government and then it was allotted to Bangladesh Shishu Academy. Since then, this building has remained the office of Maman Singh District Shishu Academy. The land is listed as non-agricultural government (special) land and is given to the Shishu Academy on a long-term lease.

No family or historical relationship
Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry said that after intensive review of land records, it has been confirmed that this land belongs to the government and it has nothing to do with the Ray family.

Local senior citizens and eminent people of various communities have also confirmed that this house and land have no historical relations with the ancestors of Satyajit Ray. In addition, this building is not listed as archaeological monuments.

Reference of Harikishore Ray Road
The statement also stated that the road in front of the building ‘Harikishore Ray Road’, is named after Harikishore Ray, the great -grandfather of Satyajit Ray, who was the adopting father of his grandfather Upendrakishore. The Ray family had a house on this road at one time, which they sold long ago. A new multi -storey building has now been built at that place.

Local people also clarified
Maman Singh’s social worker Professor Bimal Kanti Dey informed about the misconception that this house is not from the family. Local poet and writer Farid Ahmed Dulal also confirmed that this building has no relation with Satyajit Ray or his family. All the local citizens unanimously said that the construction of a new building for Shishu Academy is in the interest of children and there should be no delay in work.

The great filmmaker Satyajit Ray’s ancestral house was reported to be demolished in Maman Singh, Bangladesh, but now the Bangladeshi government has stopped the work of demolishing the house. The Government of India had intervened about this and also said that he will help in making it again. According to a report by NDTV, Satyajit Ray’s house will be renewed.

India had expressed concern about the demolition of Satyajit Ray’s house. Only after this, the work of going to the house was stopped. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also opposed this demolition and said that this house is deeply connected to the cultural history of Bengal. This house in Maman Singh was of Upendra Kishore Ray Chaudhary, the famous Bengali writer and grandfather of Satyajit Ray.

What did the Ministry of External Affairs respond

Reacting to the demolition of the house, the Ministry of External Affairs said, “We are extremely sorry that the ancestral property of famous filmmaker and litterateur Satyajit Ray is being demolished in Maman Singh, Bangladesh.” Existing time This property owned by the Bangladesh government is in poor condition. Given the historical status of this building, it would be a good option to reconsider it again and make it in a better situation again. It is an important symbol of Bengali cultural.

Crack between India-Bangladesh?

Bangladeshi officials, citing the danger, suggested that a new concrete structure would be built instead of the dilapidated house. Officials also said that it will be made the center of cultural activities. The news of Satyajit Ray’s house being demolished has once again brought bitterness in the relations between India and Bangladesh. Since the coup of the Awami League government last year, the relationship between the two countries has not been good.

Sharmila Tagore News: Filmmaker Satyajit Ray’s 1970 film Aranyer day is made in discussion. The film was a screen in the Cannes Classes section in the film Cannes Film Festive. The film featured stars like Saumitra Chatterjee, Subhendu Chatterjee, Samit Bhanja, Rabi Ghosh, Sharmila Tagore, Kaberi Bose, Simi Grewal and Aparna Sen. Simi Grewal and Sharmila Tagore also arrived at Cannes Film Festival.

When Sharmila Tagore got Satyajit Ray’s film

Recently, Sharmila Tagore spoke about this film. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Sharmila Tagore said, ‘Satyajit Ray asked me that you will work in my film? I want you for a month for the film. In the month of May. I said yes without thinking. Then I kept the phone and said, O God, I have committed Shakti Samanta, he was doing ‘Queen of my dreams’ in the month of May.

Further Sharmila said, ‘Rajesh Khanna was very busy at that time. He was about to work with 12 producers. He dated everyone. I told Shakti ji that I have to do this film. No matter how I celebrated him and worked with Satyajit Ray.

Please tell that Sharmila made his acting debut with Satyajit Ray’s film Appu Sansar. That is why she did not want to refuse Satyajit Ray.

Sharmila Tagore stayed in the watchman’s room

Sharmila further said, ‘When we were shooting for the film, we were all living in different places because there was a shortage of space. Simi Grewal, Kaberi Bose stayed in a bungalow in the neighborhood village. Satyajit Ray and Soumitra Chatterjee stayed at different places. I, Samit nephew, Subhendu Chatterjee, Rabi Ghosh stayed in another place. I stayed in the watchman’s room. There was a water cooler there. It was very hot at that time. You cannot even imagine how much heat was there. We used to shoot only from 5.30 am to 9 am and from 3 pm to 6 pm in the evening. The rest of the time we were just making bonds. We became good friends. It was a very difficult place.
