All the countries in the world give special importance to education because everyone knows that only an educated citizen builds a country and creates the future of the country. All over the world, education is considered the foundation of developed countries and that is why different nations create a huge network of schools and colleges at their own level. However, an interesting question always remains in discussion, after all, which country has the highest number of schools and colleges in the world? And where does India rank in this list?

India’s population and education needs

India comes seventh in the world and number 1 in the world in terms of population. According to the survey, 46.9% of the total population of India is below 25 years of age, which makes India a young country. With such a large population receiving education, is the network or number of educational institutions in our country big enough to provide education to such a huge population?

Highest educational institute in India

You will be proud to know that India has the largest number of educational institutions (schools, colleges, universities) in the world. After India comes the United States and China. It is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records that the number of secondary schools in India is the highest in the whole world, where 139,539 educational institutions are available for children or students from class 9th to 12th, which shows that India is completely aware of education.

Total number of schools in India

There are approximately 15 lakh schools in India, which include schools at all levels of primary, upper primary, secondary and higher secondary, which are providing education to the vast population of India.

Higher education institutions of India

India also has a large number of institutions of higher education (colleges and universities) that are responsible for the future of India’s students, among which IITs, IIMs, NITs and IISC Bengaluru are elite and known throughout the world for their quality of education. There are more than 12,700 higher education institutions in the country, including more than 4,000 recognized universities. In some sources this number is also stated to be 5,000 to 8,000 universities.

America’s educational institutions

The number of higher educational institutions in the United States is approximately 4000, but according to the 2023 24 report, the number of higher educational institutions in America, which include higher degrees like Bachelor’s Degree and sometimes Master’s and Doctorate (PhD), is approximately 5,819. America is the first choice of every student in the world for higher education. There are world famous educational institutions here, which include world famous universities like Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, Columbia.

China’s higher educational institutions

China ranks third in the world in the number of higher educational institutions. According to China’s Ministry of Education, there are 3,117 universities, colleges and other institutions of higher education, including 1,308 universities and colleges and 1,560 vocational and technical colleges, including major educational institutions such as Tsinghua University and Peking University.

Now in private schools, fees will not be increased due to will. The Delhi government is going to implement a new rule, under which a three -level monitoring system will be made. Before increasing the fees, schools will have to take approval at many levels and the opinion of parents will also be given importance in this.

Under this system, a 10 -member fee regulation committee will be formed first at the school level. This committee will include school management as well as 5 parents. The presence of scheduled castes and women representatives in the committee will be necessary. This committee will consider the school building, resources, staff and total 18 points and decide whether it is necessary to increase the fees. This committee will be constituted every year by July 21 and it will have 21 days to submit its report. The decision of the committee will be valid for three years. That is, efforts will not be made to increase the fees again and again.

How will it decide

If the school level committee is unable to give a decision on time or there is a dispute, then the matter will go to the district level committee. Which will be chaired by Deputy Director of Education. There will be a re -hearing here and if there is no decision within 45 days, the matter will be handed over to the state level committee. The state level committee will have 7 members, who will give the final decision. Not only this, if 15 percent or more parents disagree with the decision of the school level committee, then they can directly appeal to the District Committee.

Mexico bans junk food: The government’s ban on junk food in Mexico schools has come into effect from Saturday (March 29). Officials say that this step has been taken to deal with the increasing obesity and serious diabetes problems in the country.

This new rule which was first released last year, stops salty and sweet packed foods that have become part of the diet of Mexican children. These include sweet fruit juice, packet chips, artificial boar peels and chili spicy soy-rich peanuts.

Ministry of Education of Mexico said this in its post

The Ministry of Education of Mexico announced that the ban on junk food has now become a law. Posting on X, it wrote, ‘Goodbye, junk food!’ Parents were also encouraged to make healthy food for their children at home and cooperate in this campaign of the government.

Public Health Secretary Mario Delgado said, “One of the main goals of the new Mexican school system is to promote healthy life.” He also informed that parents are fully supporting this rule.

Plan will be implemented in a phased manner

According to the new rule of Mexico, schools will have to gradually remove all the food and drink items that have more salt, sugar, calories or fat and have black warning labels. Mexico implemented this mandatory labeling system in 2020.

Under this junk food ban, which came into force from Monday morning, schools will now have to give healthy options like Bean Tacos instead of junk food and also provide plain drinking water.

Mexican President also released a statement

Mexico President Claudia Shinbam said, “It is better to eat bean taco than the packet of potato chips.” According to UNICEF, Mexico’s children eat the most junk food throughout Latin America. For this reason, obesity has become a serious problem in children. The agency’s report states that 40% of the total calories taken by children come from Chinese -rich drinks and more processed foods.
