Mahindra is preparing to further strengthen its hold in the Indian market. The company has made a big plan for the future, under which about 16 new SUVs will be launched by 2031. These vehicles will include both petrol-diesel (ICE) and electric (EV) models. Mahindra has already launched the updated version of XUV700 and successful vehicles like Scorpio N in the market. Now the company is working towards expanding its SUV portfolio.

Vision S and Scorpio brand expansion

Vision S is the most talked about upcoming vehicle of Mahindra. This will be a sub-4 meter SUV, which will be launched under the Scorpio brand. This decision is a bit different, because usually vehicles of this size are associated with brands like Bolero. But Mahindra wants to strengthen the Scorpio name, so Vision S will be kept under this brand. This SUV is expected to be launched by 2027 and it could be the first vehicle of this new series.

New platform and technology

Mahindra will use a new monocoque platform named NU_IQ for its new SUV. The special thing about this platform is that it will support many types of engine options, like petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric. This will make it easier for the company to make different models on the same platform. This step will prepare Mahindra for future needs and will help in increasing competition in the market.

Focus will be on both ICE and EV

Mahindra’s plans include about 10 new ICE vehicles, some of which will be brand new and some will be updates of existing models. Apart from this, the company is also working rapidly on electric vehicles. Many more SUVs like Vision X, Vision T can be seen in the coming times. The company aims to provide options to customers in every segment.

Mahindra’s clear focus will be on the SUV segment only. The company wants to provide better options to the customers with new technology, new design and different fuel options. The next few years starting from 2027 are going to be very important for Mahindra, because many new vehicles will be launched during this period. This will increase competition in the market and customers will get more options.
