Patanjali says, “The referral laboratory was not NABL accredited for testing cow ghee, hence the testing done there is not legally acceptable. It is ridiculous and deeply objectionable that a sub-standard lab has declared Patanjali’s best cow ghee as sub-standard. The company further said, “The parameters on the basis of which the sample was declared unsuccessful were not applicable at that time, hence their use is legally wrong.”

Patanjali will file appeal in Food Safety Tribunal

Patanjali claims, “The re-testing was done after the expiry date of the sample, which is invalid as per law.” The court has passed an adverse order without considering all these major arguments, which is not correct from the point of law. An appeal is being filed against this order in the Food Safety Tribunal and we are confident that this matter will be decided in our favor on the solid grounds of our case before the Tribunal.

Patanjali says, “Nowhere in this decision has Patanjali cow ghee been said to be harmful for consumption.” It has been clarified that only nominal difference is found in Ghee from the standard of RM Value. This RM Value tells the level of volatile fatty acid (which becomes volatile when ghee is heated) in ghee. This is a natural process. This does not affect the quality of ghee. Just like a nominal hemoglobin difference in the body is natural.
