India-US Relations: The new US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gore, has given a big statement after taking charge. Sergio Gore also gave information about India-US trade deal. He said that officials of both the countries are actively talking and the next talks are scheduled to take place tomorrow. He said that India is the largest country in the world, so it is not easy to take the trade deal to the final stage, but both the countries are working hard to complete it. Trade is important, but both the countries are also working together in other areas like security, energy, technology, education, health and preventing terrorism.

The ambassador also gave a big good news for India. He said, ‘Next month India will be invited to become a full member of PaxSilica.’ Sergio Gore said that PaxSilica is a US-led initiative. Its objective is to create a secure and strong silicon supply chain in sectors like minerals, energy, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, AI and logistics. Earlier it included Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom and Israel. Now India will also be invited to join this group.

US President Donald Trump has announced a plan to impose 100 percent tariff on all imported semiconductors and chips to strengthen domestic production. During a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook at the Oval Office, the US President said, “100 percent tariff will be imposed on all chips and semiconductors coming to the US, but if you have committed to build (in the US), or if you (in America) are in the process of manufacturing, as many companies are doing, no tariff will be seen.”

If Trump implements his tariff threats, Apple, NVidia and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (Tsmc) Companies like which have promised significant investment in American investment, this exemption can benefit from this exemption. The purpose of this measure is to motivate international technical companies to establish or expand manufacturing functions in the United States and thus reduce dependence on foreign supply chains.

Apple discounts in American chip construction

Trump said that due to increasing investment in production in the US, Apple may get the benefit of this exemption in American chip manufacturing. US President Trump said, “The good news for companies like Apple is that if you are constructing in the US or committed to construction in the US without any question, there will be no duty.” 100 percent tariffs will apply to all imported semiconductors and chips, which will affect major suppliers in Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore.

Apple’s contribution to American chip construction

In addition to an investment of Apple $ 100 billion in US chip and $ 165 billion of TSMC, Nvidia and Globalfoundry have also promised to manufacture some of their products in the US. The US government has implemented 25 percent import duty on Indian goods from 7 August.
