Prime Minister Narendra Modi met on Thursday (May 14, 2026) with the foreign ministers of the member countries who had come to attend the two-day BRICS conference held in New Delhi, the capital of India. The Ministry of External Affairs gave official confirmation saying that this program was already scheduled. PM Modi held a joint meeting with all the foreign ministers at Seva Tirtha (Prime Minister’s Office/PMO). After this, as per the scheduled program, at 7 pm, Foreign Minister S. A dinner will be organized by Jaishankar at Bharat Mandapam.

According to IANS, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi reached Delhi on Thursday morning (May 14, 2026) to attend the meeting of foreign ministers of the BRICS summit. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar welcomed foreign ministers from all over the world at the Bharat Mandapam.

Presiding over the meeting, Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar reiterated India’s clear stand on global issues. He said, ‘Peace and security are at the center of the global order. Recent conflicts have made the importance of dialogue and diplomacy even more clear. In this difficult and uncertain world, discussions should move towards sustainable development while maintaining the principles of equality and common but differentiated responsibilities.

He said technological advancements are reshaping the global outlook and can be used for good governance and inclusive development. There are also common interests in strengthening cooperation against terrorism.

Old Parliament House now Constitution House

After the parliamentary proceedings shifted to the new building, the name of the old Parliament House has now been changed to Constitution House. Let us tell you that this is the same building where the Constituent Assembly of India prepared the draft of the Constitution of independent India between 1946 and 1949. Along with this, the newly built Parliament House is called Sansad Bhawan. It is now the main venue for parliamentary proceedings.

South Block renamed as Seva Tirtha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has renamed the South Block complex as Seva Tirtha with the inauguration on 13 February 2026. There are many important offices in this complex including PMO and Cabinet Secretariat. Although earlier Seva Tirtha was named ‘Executive Enclave’, but on 2 December 2025, its name was changed to Seva Tirtha.

Central Secretariat now duty building

The newly constructed General Central Secretariat Building is now officially called Dutta Bhavan. The name matches the larger theme of Duty shown in Path of Duty.

Change in the name of Race Course Road and Mughal Garden

The name of Race Course Road leading to the Prime Minister’s residence has been changed to Lok Kalyan Marg. Along with this, the name of the famous Mughal Garden inside Rashtrapati Bhavan has also been changed to Amrit Udyan. The purpose of changing this name was to show the larger spirit of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

Name of Raj Bhavan also changed

In different states, the name of government houses known as Raj Bhavan has also been changed to Log Bhawan. The argument behind this was that the name Raj Bhavan reflects the colonial mentality.
