The name of the Prime Minister’s Office has been changed to Seva Teerth. The PMO, which has been operating in the South Block for decades, is now preparing to shift to the new complex ‘Seva Teerth’. The new office has been built in Seva Teerth-1, which is part of a modern and secure government complex built near Vayu Bhawan.

Major offices will be in Seva Tirth-2 and Seva Tirth-3

A total of three high-tech buildings have been built in the ‘Seva Teerth’ complex. Cabinet Secretariat will be shifted to Seva Teerth-2. The office of the National Security Advisor (NSA) will be established in Seva Teerth-3.

This transfer process has started. On October 14, Cabinet Secretary T.V. Somanathan held a high-level meeting with the Chief of Defense Staff and the three service chiefs at Seva Tirtha-2, which is being considered as the formal inauguration of the new complex.

The new buildings have been made intelligence-proof, equipped with secure communication systems and modern technology. This change is being considered as part of the government’s plan for large-scale administrative restructuring and integration of the Central Secretariat.

Name of Raj Bhavan also changed

He said that this change is not only administrative but also cultural and moral. The name of ‘Raj Bhawan’, the official residence of the governors of the states, is also being changed to ‘Lok Bhawan’. Officials said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, areas of governance have been revamped to reflect ‘duty’ and transparency. The government had recently changed the earlier name of the tree-lined route from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate as ‘Rajpath’ to ‘Kartavya Path’. The name of the Prime Minister’s official residence was changed to Lok Kalyan Marg in 2016.
