Shaan’s real name is Shantanu Mukherjee. He was born on 30 September 1972 in Khandwa city of Madhya Pradesh. He belongs to a Bengali family. He was fond of music since childhood. His grandfather Jahar Mukherjee was a famous lyricist, while his father Manas Mukherjee was a music director. Because of this, there was a deep attachment to music since childhood. He was only four years old when he started singing.

Doing work from young age
At the age of just 13, the shadow of father was raised from Shan’s head. In such a situation, he started working at a young age to help his family.
