Actually, South Africa has announced its 15-member squad for the World Cup, in which the name of Shabnim Ismail (Shabnim Ismail Retirement U Turn) is also included. Ismail has decided to make a comeback after 3 years of retirement.

Shabnim Ismail played 127 ODIs, 113 T20s and one Test match in her nearly 16-year long international career. In this historic career he took 317 wickets. He retired from international cricket in the year 2023.

Laura Woolworth will captain South Africa in the World Cup starting from June 12. Marijne Kapp and Dane van Niekerk have also returned after recovering from injury. Wicketkeeper batsman Karabo Meso has also made a comeback.

India and South Africa in the same group

India and South Africa have been placed in Group A in the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup. Apart from India and South Africa, Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Netherlands are present in Group A. South Africa will play its first match with Australia on 13 June. The competition between India and South Africa will be seen on 21st June.
