Who is Shedley Van Schalkwyk?

Shedley Van Schalkwyk was born on August 5, 1988 in Cape Town, South Africa. He bowls fast with his right hand and also knows how to hit powerful batting shots. He bats with his left hand but bowls with his right hand. He studied at Wynberg High School and played domestic cricket for Western Province in 2008 and later made a name for himself in the South African domestic circuit.

Schalkvik shifted to the United States of America in the 2020s. First performed well for Los Angeles Knight Riders in Minor League Cricket and then in Major League Cricket (MLC). Made his international debut playing for the USA cricket team in April 2024. By bowling powerfully especially in pressure situations, he became a reliable bowler of the USA cricket team. He was also a part of the USA cricket team in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Shadley van Schalkwyk is also very active in franchise cricket. He has played for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in ILT20. He has played 13 ODI and 14 T20 matches for USA so far.
