Prior to Partition, the property of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir was spread to Lahore, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Sheikhpura and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. In the year 1961, Pakistan took the properties of PoK through an ordnance so that they could be maintained properly. The PoK government was evicted from these assets.

Pakistan is burdened with heavy debt. Shahbaz Sarkar has taken a loan of millions of billion billion dollars from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Saudi Arabia.
