Stock Market Today: Today, on 8th April, amazing growth is being seen in the Indian stock market. There was such a tsunami in Sensex and Nifty in the morning trading that Wednesday became one of the biggest days in the history of the stock market. BSE’s 30-share benchmark index jumped nearly 2800 points or 4 percent to reach the level of 77392. In this way, Nifty also climbed to the level of 23939 with a rise of more than 800 points or 3.5 percent. This rise was so strong that mid and small-cap segments also jumped by more than 3 percent.

Huge profits made in minutes

This sudden rise in the stock market had such an impact that the total market capitalization of all the companies listed in BSE increased from Rs 429 lakh crore to Rs 443 lakh crore. That means, within a few minutes, investors made a profit of Rs 14 lakh crore.

Reason for rise in stock market

• US President Donald Trump has announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran. This is the biggest reason for the rise in the stock market. With Trump’s decision, investors are relieved that the threat of war in West Asia is being averted.
• With this decision of Trump, WTI crude fell by more than 17 percent in the international markets to below 95 dollars. Since India imports 85 percent of its oil needs, cheap oil guarantees profits for Indian companies.
• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) kept the repo rate stable at 5.25 percent in its policy meeting. This has strengthened the sentiment of investors.
• Short covering was also a reason for the rise in the stock market. There has already been a sell-off in the market. In such a situation, as soon as positive news started coming, traders started cutting their short positions, due to which the market ran away.
