According to BSF, Bangladesh Police had said that the suspects had entered Meghalaya from Huluaghat sector, but the forces deployed on the border did not find any record or information of any such activity. OP Upadhyay, Inspector General of BSF in Meghalaya, said, ‘These claims are baseless and misleading. There is no evidence to prove that anyone crossed the international border from Huluaghat sector and entered Meghalaya. He further said that BSF has neither detected any such incident nor received any report. BSF claims that strict surveillance and vigil is being maintained on the border, so that any illegal activity can be detected immediately.
