Bollywood actress Shefali Shah spoke candidly about the emotional abuse she faced in her first marriage. Now 26 years after the divorce, she told that her relationship with her first husband, actor Harsh Chhaya, had become so difficult. His first marriage seemed like ‘poison’ to him. If she had not come out of this marriage, she would have been completely devastated.

Man learns only by going through difficulties
Shefali Shah talked about her divorce and ex-husband in a conversation on Zoom. During this time she said that she was never told that she was complete in herself. It is fine if you have good relationships, but if not then the other person does not understand your importance. He said that a person learns only after going through difficulties and there comes a moment when he realizes that it is not possible to bear it anymore.

Shefali Shah further told that her ex-husband Harsh Chhaya used to torture her a lot. She was dying in this marriage. According to the report, Shefali said, ‘There comes a time when everything including yourself is at stake, either you save yourself or break down. Only then does it make sense.

Perhaps this feeling occurs every day. There comes a moment when I feel that this relationship can destroy me. I can’t live in this anymore. I have to come out of this and I came to this understanding after my first marriage.

Shefali said- I am not pizza
Shefali does not stop here, she further says, ‘I realized that I will live for myself. I cannot stay in a relationship that does not give me happiness, respect or confidence. It is better to be alone than this. As you age, you stop trying to please everyone. I’m not pizza. Can’t keep everyone happy.

Shefali Shah and Harsh Chhaya got married in 1994. After 6 years of marriage, both of them got divorced in 2000. After divorcing Harsh, Shefali married filmmaker Vipul Shah in 2000. Now he has 2 sons from this marriage.
