Most of these and major Shiva temple between these two Jyotirlingas from Kedarnath to Rameswaram is situated on the same parallel line. This is called Shiva Shakti Rekha. The special thing is that there are 5 temples in it which represent the five elements of the universe (water, fire, air, sky and earth). They are called Panch Bhoot.

All these temples are in the same queue. But all temples have been established in different periods. All temples were built 4000 years ago. At that time no technology was available to measure latitude and longitude. In such a situation, the history of these temples is amazing.

Shiva Shakti Rekha begins with the Kedarnath temple located in Rudraprayag. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. It was built by Janmejaya.

The second temple is the Srikalahasti temple in Chittoor district, which represents the air element. It is said that it was built by Krishnadeva Rai, the king of the Vijayanagara Empire. Special worship is done here to get rid of Rahu-Ketu from the inauspicious effects.

The third is the Ekambareshwar temple of Tamil Nadu where Shiva is worshiped as earth element. It was built by the Pallava kings. The fourth temple was built by the Arunachal Temple located in Thiruvannamalai, which was built by Cholavanshi Rajans. It is worshiped as Agni Linga.

The fifth temple is the Jambukeshwar temple of Tiruchirappalli which is a symbol of water element. A natural stream flows continuously in the sanctum sanctorum of this temple.

The sixth temple is Shri Thillai Natraj Temple which is a symbol of the sky element. It is dedicated to Mahadev to Nataraja, the dance form of Mahadev. The Shiva Shakti comes at the end of the line Rameshwar Temple which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
