Panchbali Shraddha performed during Pitru Paksha is such a karma, without which Shraddha is not considered complete. With this, the soul of the ancestors gets satisfied and attains salvation. Therefore, this karma is important in the ancestral side.

Panchbali Shraddha in Pitru Paksha provides satisfaction to the ancestors, gods as well as all beings and gathering welfare. In this karma, food is kept for 5 organisms at 5 places. Let us know about it.

It is said that, on the ancestral side, our ancestors come in the form of cow, dog, crow, chest etc. and accept the food offered by their families. Therefore, food prepared for fathers is offered to organisms and Brahmins, which is called Panchbali Shraddha Karma.

In Panchbali Shraddha, the first cow sacrificial (food for cow in the west direction), the second dog sacrifice (for the dog), the third Kak Bali (for the crow), the fourth Dewadhi Bali (for the deity or Brahmin) and the fifth piplikadi sacrifice (for the chilli and insects) are kept for food.

Panchbali Shraddha means offering food or food to 5 types of organisms. It consists of crow, cow, dog, ants and Brahmins. It is believed that only when these creatures and gods are satisfied, there is happiness and peace in the family and planets are removed.

The Brahmin is considered a representative of the deity or ancestors, the crow is considered an ancestral messenger, the dog is considered to be the abode of the gods in the cow, and the microorganisms are considered as the form of the ancestors.

The time of Pitra Paksha is dedicated to the ancestors. In the 15 days of Pitru Paksha, it is best to perform Shraddha, Tarpan and Pindadan for the ancestors. This year Pitru Paksha will start from 7 September and run till 21 September 2025.

Many rules have to be followed in 15 days of Shraddha Paksha. Also, shopping for some things during this time is also considered inauspicious. Pitra is angry with these items purchased during Pitru Paksha. Know which things should not be purchased on the ancestral side.

Property:- Shopping for new property, flat, land or shops etc. is also prohibited during Pitru Paksha. At this time, these things purchased increase the influence of Pitra dosha in the family. Along with the house etc., you should also avoid purchasing of new vehicle at the time of Pitra Paksha. Vehicles for this time give inauspicious results.

Jewelry-jewelery: One should avoid shopping for gold-silver jewelery or jewelery in the fortnight of Pitru Paksha. Pitra is angry with doing this. Also, new clothes should not be purchased in the ancestral side. In these days, you should wear old and ordinary clothes.

New utensils:- In the 15 days of Pitra Paksha, new utensils should not be purchased for the house. You can also use old utensils or leaves of the house for Shraddha Karma etc.

Electronics goods:- It is inauspicious to buy fridge, computers, machines etc. in the ancestral side. During this time, if you do not shop for the goods related to indulgence, then it will be better.

Kitchen items:- Some materials related to the kitchen like mustard oil, broom and salt should not be purchased during Pitra Paksha. It is believed that it causes Tridosha and faces many troubles. Therefore, you should buy these things in advance.
