Shubhanshu Shukla, a astronaut of Indian origin, is now ready to return to Earth after spending 18 days at the International Space Station (ISS) and carrying out many important scientific experiments. Under the Axiom-4 mission, he and three other astronauts will start a return journey on July 14. According to NASA, his safe landing on Earth is scheduled on July 15 at 3:00 pm (Indian time).

Dragon vehicle is bringing ‘scientific treasury’ from space

NASA has informed that many rare and important scientific materials involved in this mission are returning from space. These include 580 pounds (about 263 kg) scientific equipment, NASA’s space hardware and data of more than 60 science experiments. These experiments have been done in space and the future space is considered very important for technology and medical science.

Crew return process begins

3. Entry and tremendous friction in the atmosphere

As soon as the vehicle enters the Earth’s atmosphere, it will have to face tremendous heat and friction. At this time the speed of the vehicle will be around 28,000 km/h, which will gradually decrease while descending.

4. Parachute safe landing

After entering the atmosphere, first small and then large parachutes will open, which will significantly reduce the speed of the vehicle. This process ensures the safe splashdown landing of the vehicle.

According to NASA, if the weather remains favorable, Shubhanshu Shukla and his party will land in the sea near the California coast. NASA will also broadcast this landing live.

5. Return time and recovery

The process ranging from ignorant to splashdown may take a total of 12 to 16 hours. The crew dragon usually descends into the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico. The recovery team of Space X immediately arrives and lifts the vehicle on the ship and takes the passengers out safely.

About 263 kg of scientific equipment and data are being brought together in the dragon vehicle. These include NASA’s hardware and data related to more than 60 space experiments.

Shubhanshu shukla journey: Indian Air Force pilot and astronaut group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is ready to create history by becoming another Indian to fly in space. He will fly to the International Space Station (ISS) for the Ex-4 mission on Wednesday (June 11) on a SpaceX rocket and crew dragon. They will fly ET (IST) from Kennedy Space Center in Florida with three other astronauts at 8:00 am.

Amidst enthusiasm about the mission, a family member of Shukla said that he would take some Indian dishes including Amaras, Moong Dal Halwa and Carrot Halwa. According to the report of NDTV Profit, her sister Suchi Shukla in Lucknow said, “Since the spices in Indian food are very high, they were not allowing them to be taken but finally, he allowed some varieties.” He said, “He is a fitness freak and he is also very much interested in yoga, so I am confident that he will maintain balance in it.”

Shubhanshu will fly space with these people

Shubhanshu Shukla is also called with love. He will lead the ISS by riding on SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft. He will fly with three other astronauts including Dr. Paigi Whitson from the United States, Slavose Uznansky-Vicenivsky from Poland and Tibor Kapu from Hungary.

Shubhanshu Shukla as a pilot will help in launching, docking and re-entry processes. Crew will conduct more than 60 science experiments in areas such as material science, biology and earth observation for 14 days. Axiom Space said on its website, “This will be the most research and science activities on the Ex-Space Mission at the International Space Station, which outlines the global importance and collaborative nature of the mission to pursue microgravity research in low-ear-orbit (Leo).”
