The former Indian cricketer interviewed Dinesh Karthik, in which he first asked where do you want to take the team as a captain? A special trophy, or a special goal you have set?

To this, Shubman Gill said, “Apart from the trophy, I want to create such an atmosphere, culture inside the team, where everyone feels safe and happy. It can be difficult to make such an environment, because we play so many matches, are separate squads. But if I can do it, I will do it, this is my goal.”

On the question by Karthik on his father’s reaction, Gill said, “He probably did not think that I would become a captain, even I did not think. When I was younger, I wanted to play only for the country, to perform for the country and win the match, I did not think that I would become a captain.”

What did you learn from Rohit-Virat?

Dinesh Karthik asked that you played with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli. What did you learn from him as a leader? To this Gill said, “When I played in Virat Bhai’s company, in Test, his idea, his idea, his thinking, these were the things that I liked and I learned. Speaking about Rohit Sharma, Gill said, “He had maintained such an atmosphere inside the team that even if he abuses you, then you will not keep him on the heart.”
