BCCI has appointed Shubman Gill as the new captain of India’s T20 team. This claim is being made on social media and the post of Gill being appointed as the new T20 captain is going viral. According to the viral post, it was told that the selection committee wanted to give a captain to Team India in all three formats, hence Gill has been made the new captain. Let us tell you that this post is completely fake.

In the post going viral on social media, citing reports, it was said that BCCI has decided to make Shubman Gill the new T20 captain. The selectors wanted the Indian team to have only one captain in all three formats and Gill was considered the best option for this role. It was told in the post that Shubman Gill will take over the captaincy of the T20 team after IPL 2026.

When ABP Live investigated this claim, it was found that this news is completely false. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not made any such announcement nor has any official statement from Shubman Gill in this regard. This news is completely fake and Suryakumar Yadav still remains the captain of India’s T20 team. However, in some recent reports, it has been claimed that due to poor personal form, Suryakumar can be removed from the captaincy of the T20 team.
