In view of the possible flood situation in Jammu, India has issued a warning to Pakistan. This step has been taken at a time when the Indus water treaty between the two countries is in cold storage. Pakistani media reports say that this is the first major contact between the two neighbors after the military conflict in May.

Indian High Commission gave information
According to the report of Geo News, the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on August 24 told Pakistani officials about the possibility of flooding in the Tawi River of Jammu. After this move of India, Pakistan also issued a warning.

There was a terrorist attack in Pahalgam
On April 22, 26 people died in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. This was followed by a military conflict between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the cancellation of the Indus Water Treaty. Flood alert in Pakistan has come at a time when this treaty is postponed.

Not official confirmation
Newspaper The News quoted sources as saying that India has contacted Pakistan to share the information related to floods. However, there has been no official confirmation from India or Pakistan so far. Such information is usually shared through the Indus Water Commissioners.

According to sources, India warned Pakistan through the Indian High Commission in Islamabad about the possible severe floods in the Tawi River of Jammu. It has also been claimed in the news that this is the first major conversation after the military conflict between the two countries in May.

NDMA warning
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned of heavy rains in most parts of Pakistan till 30 August. So far, more than 788 people have been killed and 1,018 people were injured in Pakistan, which is struggling with monsoon rains.

The Indus Water Treaty has been controlling the water sharing and use of the Indus River and its tributaries between India and Pakistan since 1960. After the attack on 22 April, India ‘postponed’ the treaty.

The statement came in response to Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir’s statement in the US, in which he threatened India over the Indus agreement.

During the meeting with representatives of farmer organizations in Delhi, Shivraj said- “Neighbors are giving a jackal of nuclear weapons from America, but India is not afraid of it. The whole world should listen to, the Indus agreement has been canceled, our water will work for our farmers, it is decided.” He said that there was concern about the agreement and tariffs all over the country, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear that there will be no compromise on the interests of farmer.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that Prime Minister Modi has made it clear that the interest of farmers is his top priority, no matter what personal loss has to be suffered for this. He thanked PM Modi and said that under his leadership, India is fully committed to the welfare of farmers.

Asim Munir gave nuclear threats
Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir threatened India from America’s land. During a dinner held in Tampa, USA, he said- “We are an atomic rich nation. If we felt that we are drowning, half will drown the world with us.” He made this statement after four days of struggle with India and during his second American visit in two months.

What did Munir say about the Indus River?
Munir also accused India about the control of the Indus River. He said- “We will wait for India to build a dam and when he does so, we will destroy it with ten missiles. The Indus River is not the property of any Indian family. We have no shortage of missiles.”
