A big challenge is going to arise in the higher education system of the country in the coming years. According to the new report, if India has to achieve the targets set under the National Education Policy, then the number of students studying in higher education will have to increase significantly by 2035. The report released by industry organization CII and Grant Thornton India states that the country will need about 85% more enrollments than the current situation. This simply means that the number of colleges, universities and teachers will also have to be increased on a large scale.

Target of 50 percent GER by 2035

According to the report, the aim of NEP 2020 is to reach the gross enrollment ratio in the country to 50% by 2035. For this, India will have to connect about 8.61 crore students with higher education. This figure is much higher than the number of students currently studying in colleges and universities. The report says that there will have to be a continuous growth of about 5.3 percent per year for the next 10 years, which in itself is not an easy task.

Only routine colleges and universities will not be able to meet this need.

The report clearly states that routine colleges and universities alone will not be able to meet this need. Even though physical campuses will remain the backbone of education. But to accommodate such a large number of students, new methods will have to be adopted. Digital University, Online Credit Course, Virtual Learning System and technology based education have been expressed as a need on a large scale so that the reach of education can be extended beyond the campus. It has also been said in the same report that job related skills are going to change rapidly in the coming times. It is estimated that by 2030, 40 percent of job skills will change. For this reason, higher education institutes are designing courses keeping in mind employment along with studies. Options like micro credential modular courses, learning in collaboration with the industry and I-based assessment are becoming increasingly popular.

The way of education is changing due to technology

According to the airport, due to technological globalization and changing expectations of students, higher education institutes are making changes in their systems. Along with studies, digital use is also increasing in administrative governance and decision making process. The aim is not to increase the numbers but to improve the quality and experience of education.

For many decades the path to business education was considered almost clear. The common thought of people was to get MBA after graduation and then a leadership job with good salary. But now this formula is gradually changing, it is clear from the selection of students in business schools around the world that now not only the degree but its results matter more. AACSB of international Enrollment Trends at AACSB Business Schools 2025 The report shows that the demand for management education is strong. But students are choosing courses more thoughtfully than before. Especially for Indian students, these changes are giving many important career related signals. Today we tell you how the formula of business degree is changing and how the demand for more specialized courses than MBA is increasing.

Applications are increasing, but there is no hurry in admission

According to reports, in the last few years, applications for undergraduate and master level business courses have increased rapidly, but the pace of enrollment is not so fast. This means that students are not accepting any offer immediately. He is taking the decision only after carefully examining the fees, scholarship, placement, internship and future job options. This change has also increased competition among business schools, due to which students are getting better opportunities.

MBA is not everyone’s next option

AACSB According to the report, MBA is no longer the default option like before. Enrollment in MBA programs is declining worldwide, while demand for specialized master’s degrees is increasing rapidly. Courses like Business Analytics, Finance Supply Chain Management, Marketing and Fintech are attracting those students who want to enter a particular role quickly and directly. The report clearly says that MBA is not going away, but now it is being considered a good option for professionals with more work experience. Apart from this, in today’s job market, it is not just the title but the skills that matter. For this reason, business schools are giving more importance to data analytics, digital transformation, AI, sustainability and problem solving skills in their courses. This is also considered a clear indication for Indian students that only those courses which have technical knowledge, practical learning and strong connection with the industry will be more beneficial.

Thinking is changing in international studies also

The number of international students at the Masters level is increasing again, but now the decisions have become more practical. Students are choosing the country and college keeping in mind the visa rules, work opportunities and placement after studies. Now return on investment has become more important than name and ranking. This is the reason why skill-focused, short-term and good placement programs are being preferred. AACSB The report has also revealed that online, hybrid and part-time courses are increasing rapidly in post graduate business education. Now companies are also accepting such formats. Especially when students are able to show work experience along with studies.

The year 2025 is now in its final stages and the new academic session 2026...

The year 2025 is now in its final stages and the new academic session 2026 is going to start soon. In such a situation, it becomes very important for crores of school students, parents and teachers across the country to know what major changes NCERT has made in the school books and syllabus this year. In fact, after the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP 2020), India’s education system is changing rapidly. Now education will not be limited to books only, rather emphasis is being laid on giving children education related to practical knowledge, development, local culture, history and employment.

In this direction, NCERT has taken many important decisions in the year 2025. The main objective of NCERT is that students should not just study by rote, but should learn to think, understand and learn things that are useful in life. For this reason, the syllabus has been simplified, many old chapters have been removed and many new, interesting and useful topics have been added. So let us know what major changes NCERT made in the syllabus in the year 2025.

What major changes did NCERT make in the syllabus in the year 2025?

NCERT has made necessary changes in the history books starting from the year 2025. In this, many chapters related to Delhi Sultanate and Mughal period have either been removed or have been shortened and given a new form. Now more emphasis is being given in history books. Like on the history of ancient India, on the contribution of tribal and tribal communities, on Indian scientists and their works, on Indian culture and civilization. To explain the history better, a new part has been added, which has been called the dark period of history. Also, new books of classes 4, 5, 7 and 8 have been released from the academic session 2025–26. In these books, the language has been made simpler and more interesting than before, new and modern content has been added in place of old content and the names of many books have also been changed.

Emphasis on skill based studies

Under the new education policy, skill-based i.e. vocational education is now being started from class 6. This means that students will not just read books, they will also learn to work, make projects, learn skills, studies will be linked to employment and life. Its objective is to increase confidence in students, inculcate the habit of working and prepare them for the future. Along with this, to promote the thinking of Vocal for Local and Self-reliant India, NCERT has added Swadeshi module in the books. NCERT has launched two special modules on Operation Sindoor for students of classes 3 to 12. To bridge the gap between the new and old syllabus, NCERT has started bridge courses and NCERT has completely updated the books of classes 4, 5, 7 and 8.

In today’s time, if the youth are asked which degree is considered best for a good job, then most of the people immediately answer MBA. For years it has been believed that after doing MBA, career paths open up faster, salary is good and job prospects are also more. But this year’s India Skills Report 2026 has surprised everyone.

This report made it clear that the picture of job giving degrees in India is now changing. The MBA which remained at the top for many years has now slipped back. Now a different field has taken its place. This field is computer science and IT. This report has been jointly released by big organizations like ETS (Educational Testing Service), CII, AICTE, Association of Indian Universities and Taggd. In such a situation, the credibility of the report increases even more.
Fast growing new employment opportunities in India

The report states that job opportunities for youth in India are continuously increasing, especially in sectors that are directly related to technology and digital skills. Today, huge investments are being made in areas like AI, cloud computing, cyber security, data analytics and digital technology. Companies want to have employees who understand new technology and can keep themselves updated with the changing times.
Why has the demand for computer science and IT graduates increased?

According to the report, youth with computer science and IT background are getting maximum jobs. The reason for this is the rapidly increasing use of AI and automation in companies, expansion of digital platforms, increasing need for data, emphasis on strengthening cyber security. Companies want such youth who are good not only in coding but also in engineering and data handling, that is, in today’s world, those who have technical and analytical skills are in highest demand.

In which sector are most jobs available?

IT sector is providing maximum jobs. According to the report, 35 percent freshers are getting jobs in the IT sector. This data shows that technology-related careers in India will remain strong for many years to come.

This report has given the biggest blow to MBA graduates. While last year the employment percentage of MBA people was 78 percent, this year it has come down to 72.76 percent, that is, the demand for MBA has reduced, and the first choice of companies is now not just management, but technology and analytical skills.

Big opportunity for commerce graduates also

It has also been told in the report that commerce has now become not just an ordinary degree but a strong job option. The demand for youth related to business analytics, finance and operation management in companies is continuously increasing. A very interesting trend was seen in the report. The employment rate of ITI graduates is 45.95 percent.

The employment of those with Polytechnic Diploma is 32.92 percent, which means that now many job opportunities are opening up not only for the youth with big degree but also for the youth with skill based education.

Read also Now education will move beyond books… CBSE has made ‘skill education’ mandatory from 6th to 8th, children will learn real life tasks.
