<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Breathing Problems During Sleep:</strong> Sleep apnea is a common but serious health problem in which breathing repeatedly stops while sleeping. Due to this, there is lack of oxygen in the body and many organs including the heart are adversely affected. This disease affects millions of people around the world and increases the risk of problems like high blood pressure, stroke and heart disease. Additionally, it can also slow down brain function, reduce working capacity and affect quality of life.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What is sleep apnea?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In sleep apnea, breathing repeatedly stops or becomes very slow during sleep. These blockages can happen hundreds of times in a night, due to which air does not flow properly to the lungs and the oxygen level in the body falls. This lack of oxygen puts pressure on the heart and other organs and promotes inflammation in the body. Additionally, the circadian rhythm is also disrupted, which has a negative impact on memory, concentration and mental clarity.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Symptoms of Sleep Apnea</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">If this disease is identified on time, treatment can be easy. Its main symptoms are</p>

</ul>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Sleep apnea is confirmed by polysomnography. This test is done during sleep, in which sensors placed on the body record the depth of sleep, interruption in breathing and oxygen level. On this basis the severity of the disease is decided. Nowadays, the facility of home sleep study is also available, which is less expensive and more convenient. You can get it tested for around Rs 500.  Talking about treatment, CPAP machine has proved to be revolutionary in the treatment of sleep apnea. This machine helps in keeping the respiratory tract open. Apart from this, surgery, oral device and most importantly weight loss are also considered effective solutions in the long run.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>32 percent people in Bhopal are suffering from this</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Recently, in a combined study of AIIMS Bhopal and ICMR, it was revealed that about 32 percent people in Madhya Pradesh are suffering from the problem of slippage. This research was done on 1080 patients. In which people aged between 15-60 years were included. It came out that 66 percent people were suffering from BP. The number of people aged 50 years was highest in this. </p>

This is such a serious sleeping disorder, in which the person stops repeatedly during the sleep of the person or gets blocked airways. During this time, the patient has to wake up for fresh air, which not only worsens sleep but also increases fatigue, irritability and other health problems during the day.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Till now it has been treated mainly with the CPAP machine, which at bedtime gives the patient with a mask on the nose and mouth. However, this method is not affordable to everyone. Due to this, scientists and doctors are working on new treatment. Meanwhile, it has now been revealed in a new study that playing conch that is considered a religious and cultural symbol in Indian tradition can be helpful in reducing the symptoms of sleep apnea. So come, let&#8217;s know whether playing conch really reduces the symptoms of sleep apnea.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What is sleep apnea</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Sleep apnea is a condition in which the throat muscles become very loose during sleep, causing tissues like tongue, palette and tonsils to fall backwards and close the windpipe completely. Due to this blockage, a person has trouble breathing again and again and has to wake up from sleep again and again. Due to which the risk of fatigue, irritability and many diseases also increases in the day. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Does the conch shell reduce the symptoms of sleep apnea?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the study, playing conch activates the lungs and throat muscles and sleep can reduce the symptoms of apnea. In this study, 30 patients were researched, which revealed that the quality of sleep in the conch shell improved up to 34 percent, while the sleep was reduced during the day, the oxygen level improved, the Hypoxia index saw a decline of 4.4 percent. While playing the conch, the person has to breathe deeply, which increases the capacity of the lungs. There is more pressure to play the conch, which strengthens the muscles of the throat and the tongue and does not block the airways in sleep. Apart from this, the vibration generated from the conch activates muscles and improves breathing process. </p>
