ICC has fined Team India 10 percent of the match fee for maintaining slow over rate in the second ODI played in India vs South Africa in Raipur. ICC gave this information just a day before the start of the 5-match T20 series. The International Cricket Council said in its statement that India was charged under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which deals with minimum over-rate offences.

The ICC said that Emirates ICC Elite Panel match referee Richie Richardson gave this punishment when KL Rahul’s team was still two overs behind after taking into account the time allowance.

KL Rahul admitted his mistake

If punishment is given, players are fined five percent of their match fee for every over that their team is unable to bowl in the stipulated time. As the stand-in captain, KL Rahul accepted the charge and accepted the punishment, so no formal hearing was required.

Team India had lost in Raipur

India has won the 3-match ODI series 2-1, although the visiting team had won the match for which Team India was punished. In the second ODI played in Raipur, Virat Kohli (102) and Rituraj Gaikwad (105) had scored centuries, with the help of which Team India, batting first, scored a huge score of 358 runs.

However, dew played an important role in the stadium, due to which batting became easier in the second innings. While chasing the target, Aiden Markram played a brilliant inning of 110 runs. By winning this match, the visiting team had leveled the series, however, in the decisive ODI, India won the series by defeating South Africa by 9 wickets.

After Test and ODI, now ODI series will be played between India and South Africa. The first ODI of the 5-match series is on Tuesday, December 9 at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. England Team Fined for Slow Over Rate: England team has been fined heavy. The case is related to the T20 match played last Saturday, in which the Indian team defeated England by 97 runs. In this match, captain Smriti Mandhana scored an innings of 112 runs for the Indian women’s team. The fine has been imposed on the England team due to a slow-over rate. Let us tell you that by winning the first T20 match played in Nottingham, the Indian team has gone ahead 1-0 in the series.

The ICC issued a statement stating that the penal of the match referrals found that the England team had thrown 2 overs by the scheduled time. This fine has been imposed under Article 2.22 in the ICC Rules. Under this article, cases related to over-rate are contained. If the bowling team is unable to throw the entire over within the stipulated time, then the players have to pay 5 percent of the match fees for each over thrown after the scheduled time. In this way, the England team has been fined 10 percent in the first T20 match.

The four umpires of the match had put up a case of slow-over rate. England captain Nat Cyver Brant accepted the allegations, due to which there was no need for any action.

Team India’s bumper win

In this match played in Nottingham, the Indian team got an invitation to bat first. Stormy opener Shefali Verma could not do anything special in this match, which was dismissed for 20 runs. But captain Smriti Mandhana played a rage of 112 runs, during which she also scored the second fastest century for India in women’s T20 cricket. He had completed a century in 51 balls. Apart from him, Harleen Deol also scored 43 runs. In response, the entire team of England was reduced to just 113 runs. Captain Nate could not play any big innings other than Syre Brant.
